Ok with PCL confirmed for Rowell the one trade I'm considering for this week is Rowell down to Gulden (leaves me with 4-4-1-3 - midfield would be Zerrett, Jelly, Fyfe, Cripps with Heppell at M5).

I'll have ~$500k ITB but at this stage I think I'd prefer to look at a few players (and let the rookies play out) before locking in a similarly-priced replacement for what would (hopefully) be the rest of the season.

Thoughts?

I'm also considering Hunter Clark (swap for Rowell). Are you concerned that the return of Hannebery and Crouch may mean Clark moves back to defence and loses those CBAs?
Don't forget Zak Jones who is set to return shortly. It's the one thing that makes me nervous about Hunter - the sheer number of players Ratten could and probably will rotate through the midfield.

Crouch maybe, didn't even know Hannebery was still on a list tbh.

Potentially a reasonable strategy if you're focusing on leagues

If you are happy with all your rookies , it is not too bad of a idea.

Round 3 while others are correcting you could nearly bring in 2 x $ 450k breakout players if you think they are season long keepers if they back up their Round 1 scores.

Otherwise swap Rowell for a similarly priced mid , defender or forward if you have the DPP to do so.

I'm pretty happy with my rookie crop at the moment - Highmore, Kosi, Sharp, Campbell, Powell, Berry, Brockman, Scott, Warner, Fullarton and Rowe.

There's a question mark I suspect over Brockman after his performance in round 1 (on the ground, not in SC), but after checking Hawthorn's schedule he would be an almost perfect loop candidate if he's sent back to the state league, so I might hang onto him even if he is dropped.

Looks like you have the must haves at this stage.

Who really knows with the rookies this season , they might play 2-3 games then have a spell.

Worse think I find is you drop one to early then they return and play well.

Brockman's DPP should help as well with switching players around and trading.

Might move swap out the Clark's, Jordan to Hunter, depends what happens with Danger but might try something different like Danger and JC to Heeney and Hunter Clark.
Have considered myself.

H. Clark/Heeney in for Rowell/Danger would leave me with 303k.

Titch/Dusty in for Rowell/Danger leaves me with just 44k but two absolute rolled gold premiums who'll be top-liners.

Certainly worth thinking about with value and cash generation being so important early on.

Are H.Clark and Heeney good enough to hold down D6 and F6 for the year? I think they probably are.

That's the question isn't it, easy decision if we know the answer. Both are good enough no doubt, probably maturity/consistency for me with regards to Hunter and body/role with Heeney.

I'd prefer Titch/Dusty.

Hunter Clark looked good but Zak Jones and Brad Crouch will be back soon. That might have a negative impact on Hunter Clark's scoring ability.

With Danger and Menegola out for a few weeks it might solidfy J. Clark's role a bit more going forward. Something to consider at least from the perspective of him being a cash cow.

Edit: Menegola is set to make a Lazarus-esque comeback to play on Friday night according to the Hun.
I'm still confused by the medical sub, are they allowed to play the next week or do they get a 12 day break as well??

Yeah I was thinking the extra cash is the best move. My only concern is that I also have Docherty, Walsh, and Cripps. 4 Blues is a lot!
If you end up with Walsh, Cripps and Williams that's 3 of the blues midfield (assuming Williams' role hype from the preseason plays out) meaning I'd be more inclined to view them as a block - if the 3 collectively score 330 a game that's a 110 avg per player. If 1 of the 3 is consistently letting the worst them you might cull them, but it's a bit like the doggies mid group.. sometimes a different one gets their snout in the trough more than the others in any given game but collectively all the food gets eaten!
