I don't have Danger, but it's a trade for me.

I'll be generous and say you thought he was going to go 21/100 this year, which does seem on the low side (Geelong said all their players will be rested, I assumed 1 game). Based on a 92 in Rd 1, a 100 average might not be far off. Change that 100 to a 50 pt score for 3 weeks, which is reasonable to expect for a rookie replacement score and now he needs to go 17/112 from here on. That is a big jump. Not too many 30+ year olds are scoring at that level consistently.

Think I will hold Danger until Friday. Going Cripps VC on Thursday, and if he fires, Dangerfield holds his spot and becomes captain (only donut and has great loops rounds 3 and 4). If Cripps disappoints again, likely Danger > Zorko/Heeney/Heppell/Caldwell

I probably see young as someone who could easily average 85-90 down back up until the byes given his role, meaning that he ends up somewhere around the 450k mark and I'd be happy to lock him in for the first half of the season if needs be.

Going down to Young still leaves me with ~$350k ITB for another correction or early premo upgrade, so it's not like this move would happen in a vacuum and (in my mind at least) I'd could still theoretically end up with something close to two premo upgrades at a cost of 1.5 trades each in the long run (Rowell downgrade + 2 x rookie / mid price upgrades).

I really want to have a look at Titch over the next week or two against stiffer opposition before committing to him and leaving myself broke.
Why him specifically though? Both Young bros, Clark, and Cumming are all in that sub 300k price range and scored in the 80s.

In the spirit of trying something different...

Danger to Stephenson looks like a potential good option. Stephenson has moved to the midfield as part of club switch. Is a top 10 pick in his 4th year and played mids as a junior. Provides outside balance to what is more of an existing inside mid heavy team. Frees up $250k, which I can use in a week after seeing more options: such as Hickey solidifying ability to average 95+ for the year, and help correct the 3 rookie ruck line if it continues to be shaky (i.e. Hunter on the block, Meek not scoring high enough to be on the field).

Add Fantasia as well with a 94.

All 5 could look very interesting prospects depending on their Round 2 scores (doubtful any are keepers).

People looking at locking in 5-6 premium defenders from the start could also be missing out on some very nice value picks.

Role and job security - his game is also built for the new rules especially if he stays as the designated kick out taker, but overall he just passes the eye test at half back and I was bullish on him coming into the season.

Cumming is close in those respects as well I guess, but JS and role for Clark and L. Young is a big question mark going forward.

Young only had 5/14 kick ins in Rd 1. Ryan is still their main choice.

I think we have to remember that Hayden Young's 19 and has played 6 games. JS wise he'd appear to be the safest pick, scoring wise it won't be easy to keep backing up what he produced on the weekend. I'd say ideally have another look at the options this round if you can.

Yeah I've never felt comfortable going all in one one line straight away. I've currently got Clark D5 and took L Young out for Sharp last Friday. Clark will probably need to do more than last week to maintain that level of scoring an stay in the side. If I lose a rookie defender, I'd look to get L Young back in. The bar for success at his price is much more achievable.

I was initially thinking a single trade of Rowell > Heppell, however had forgotten about Williams, and like that move much more than the Heppell one.
I’m choosing to be aggressive this week trading both Rowell and Wines, flipping both Laird and Clark to my midfield (likely to flip one back next week), and bringing in Mills and Williams. I have a FOMO with Mills now that he’s gone 154, sits on a line where he may be a top 3, and if he’s any higher than that he’s must have. Wines is not must have in the midfield, he’s a punt that I was hoping may get off to a quick start, however 81 against North doesn’t fill me with confidence. Port have so many options it’s starting to remind me a lot of the days of bypassing Hawthorn premiums as the scoring was shared among the team. Boak might be the exception, with Butters the next pickable being that he’s a forward.
I watched Wines very closely, and nothing suggested he’s in for big improvement this season. There will be some spike games, but doubt he’s good enough for M6-8.
I was really impressed with Williams in the AAMI match, and the price is very appealing. Feel he will be quite popular for those forced to offload Rowell.

I think we had at least 10-12 defender premiums vying for the Top 6 , now after one game it is closer to 15-18.

I am certainly not confident in locking in 6 from the start.

Running 4 + Fantasia with Highmore , Koschitzke & Sharp so just hope the 3 rookies keep playing.

Eye definitely on L Young though , DPP a bonus as well.

I'm pretty keen on getting both H Young and Cumming into my side. I could afford Fantasia into either of them but he outscored them! Brisbane have a tough early draw so I really shouldn't have picked Daniher. Give it a week and see how it goes. Its not going to cost a tonne of points in the next week. Also, Campbell is a seriously good player but seagull just steals his chips. Nota good thing for his supercoach score. First round points only count for one price change so happy to see what happens second round and correct accordingly.

My thought is that if you want to start well and possibly get a few wins on the board... having a 600k premium sitting waiting on the bench is not the best way to do it - especially when your team is full of unreliable rookies.

Danger has to go for me.
Same thinking here. I'm VC'ing Grundy so if he does go say 130+ tomorrow night then I'll probably keep Danger one week as a loop and will field a Rowe/Powell/Berry. But otherwise he's goneskies - most likely for a Titch/Dusty/Mills.

Trades are locked in right once made after tomorrows game has commenced?
I believe if you,
For example, Use 1 trade: Dangerfield to Martin and once the Collingwood and Carlton game is complete and you still have a second trade and you trade Martin for Dangerfield you will still have 2 trades
I think someone on here trialed this during the BBL.
