Phew had a massive week and only just coming back.

Gawflyn owner myself and I say I'm a pretty good chance to move Gawn on, Fullerton to R3 and putting all eggs on Flynn + Meek.

Allows a mini restructure this week and next week again with more info.

At worse, next week I use the cash sitting around from Gawn (won't be able to use it all at once cause I started Danger) to bring in Hickey/Stef possibly on a nice bubble

At best, Fleek do well and Rd 3 gives me a chance to put cash on-top of a Dow or Impey and get another premo - say Zorko over Impey or Short over Dow.

Pretty appealing. If that structure does work out could be a real catalyst for rank and worth the 4 trades (if you also have the right rooks)

Now's the time to burn trades if you can get em right
I'm a Grunflynn (&Danger) owner, with Fullerton at F8 Suspect you're suggest a similar strategy?

Yeah it's basically the same situation..

Look it's risky. Gawn IS gonna score well this week. He will murder Hunter. But so he should..the question is could he actually av 115-120. Likewise can Fleek do 70av?

it's kinda a sink or swim.

Not a lot of the comp has the option of actually shifting to rookie ruck..fewer will do it and there's some chance that it could be the right move.

It's rare that an advantage (of course could be the opposite!!!) is possible where many in the comp can't actually chase it.

The beauty of it is that Gawn owners get another chance to watch Grundy first.....of course Gawn is a different beast but the if the stoppage numbers tonight stay low might be worth the dice roll

Yeah I'm really nervous on this, more so just losing another week of points with regards to Grundy.

Im talking a bit game but truth be told moving Max (when he's up against Hunter) when Meek isn't even named until Saturday - this trade will need to happen tomorrow - is bloody hard. The move is probably to wait till next week..

Yeah, the ankle on Flynn also increases the risk.

Perhaps a GG flick to StephM is okay, but to a Heeney, Dusty, Titch, Daniel #nervous.

Will only keep Danger if VC is circa 140+. Very costly to hold Danger.

Just wish Grundy and Danger weren't so early in the weekend!

Yeah that was the only thing I could think of and I think I too have raised the possibility of Hunter being a bit gassed maybe. Still he was off for almost the entire second half when the game was on the line and McKernan was downright horrible in the ruck, so it was still a head-scratcher for mine.
That's a interesting point about Hunter being gassed , I think he only started training with the Saints early February so he has probably missed 4-6 weeks of the actual preseason training.

Ahya!

I have in previous years gone early on changes after round 1. Have done it a couple of times, where I have jettisoned a player with a complete role change, niggle or needed to change my structure a week early to accommodate a rookie or two ... and have had some great success. Not doing it this time though.

As I have fortunately missed the two (three) popularly injured players that necessitate trades this week means I am probably still ahead of the curve even if the rucks seem destined to fall. This lucky escape reminds me how valuable trades are too, and how next week might not be as lucky. This and the important missing team sheet data mean I will play conservatively at the start of this season.

Therefore, I will gather one more week of data - then next week before price moves, I can (if the data trend continues and I miss injury and dropped complications) remove either Grundy or Gawn (thinking Grundy at this stage) and bring in Jordan (if he remains selected) into the mids. The following week in week 3, I can use the banked money to upgrade a rookie to Williams (yet to rise) or maybe even another back if it seems imperative. I'm not just looking at rookies to replace Gawn or Grundy either. I have both Dog Rucks, A lion, Swan, Bomber and Blue that I am looking into.

So next week, I'll look at losing Gawndy...

So likely to be wet game tonight. Does this favor Grundy through increased stoppages. At the moment have VC on Walsh, tempted to go Grundy if stoppages will increase. Or will Pittonet do a Martin and just jump into Grundy and allow St Kilda mids to fend for themselves.

... on top of not getting the benefits of being in an AFL program for the past 2-3 years.

It's a significant step down to SANFL in pretty much every way and big mobile ruckmen have traditionally been fairly dominant down at that level (which is where you see the sort of gaudy / stupid SC scoring numbers media outlets come up with).

Damn it already feels like we're pushing it uphill a bit at the moment, but pitting us against two teams at once is probably a bit too rough don't you think? ;)

p.s. I thought I'd better add that on a more serious note the showers are pushing through now, so they might be done by game time.

2016-2019 he was on the Crows list

2020 he was going to play for Williamstown , then joined South Adelaide during the season , played 9 games

not sure how intense (serious) SANFL pre-seasons are these days , so then a late invite to join St Kilda training

Yep it’s a long season, you really need 3 or 4 prices rises to claim a win. 140 is a great get from Flynn but remember it would’ve been more beneficial to come in round 3
Agree and on the flip side, it would have been more beneficial for non-GawnGrundy owners for them to have the low score in Round 3 not Round 1 ...

Gawn Grundy owner here; yikes.

It was 2017-2019 - he was picked up in the 2016 rookie draft.

During that time he was on the crows list as a rookie, well behind Sauce / O'Reilly and probably Jenkins. Played with the Crows SANFL outfit, was the backup ruck behind Sauce or O'Reilly whenever they were playing in the seconds and most likely been with the "second team" in drills, match practice, etc with the AFL squad (2019 was his worst year in terms of output behind O'Reilly and Sauce).

I reckon there's a certain amount of "seasoning" a big man gets playing and training with the "first team" (even playing at AFL level competing against AFL standard ruckmen) that he has simply missed out on.

He might still be good, but he's going to take a bit of time to adjust to the higher standard at AFL level despite being a mature-aged recruit.

Got that one wrong , thought it was 4 years on their list for some reason.

Remember watching him a few times on the TV , was impressive.
