I think if you have Impey already then that’s great and you would be happy with the pick.

He doesn’t look to be a must-have though imo. He went at an insane 95% DE on the weekend so had an excellent SC to DT ratio. The week before he went at 75% DE for 64 SC. I think he’s a good option but likely to average around 70 from here which doesn’t make him a must-have at his price in my opinion.

I got all the rookies except Jordon, Meek(coz im going gawndy).

I don't think Neale will be top 4, i think if he pulls up his socks he'll make top 10, But how much cash does he lose before then?

At the moment i don't see myself looking to get Neale back

Yeah, I do regret starting him, that preseason tricked me big time.

I was going to go Rowell into either Brayshaw or Walsh since they look good. (I see Brayshaw having a big season)

I just remembered i have Briggs as well so could do a defender option?
Can you post a picture of your team ?

Jordon is probably a must have rookie this round if you don't have him.

I would be prioritising getting rid of your injured players before anything and those that are not playing.

Yes Neale will loose $$$ , but it may actually cost you more to get him back.

If you think he is still Top 10 , why waste a trade now and then another trade trading him back in ? 🤔

Ideally you don't want to be sideways too many premiums and using trades to downgrade rookies (when they have made significant $$$) then upgrading onfield rookies when they have maxed out.

Which rookies are booming?

Gulden, Campbell, Warner Flynn, Highmore, sure, not sure which others you are referring to.

I had 6 rookies, which are probably on the more popular side score sub 40 on the weekend, not sure there is much cash to be made from them in the short-term, unless things improve.
Exactly

12 players under $ 200k averaging 60+ at the moment , and I doubt anyone has all of them.

7-9 onfield , not too many on the bench "booming"

Otherwise my filter is completely wrong.

Jordon 80
McDonald 78.5
Highmore 68.5
Powell 64
Berry 64
Meek 62.5

Throw in Impey, Young and to a lesser extent Clark

Find me another year with this many cash cows averaging around the 80 mark.

Those rookies that have started slow , will be slow burners, probably appropriate that they are slow burners as the guys above will be peaking at the same time, with 2 trades a week will be hard to up/down all at same time.

hahaha that looks familiar 😀

and the majority of those are onfield

where are your "booming" rookies on the bench that are actually going to make the necessary dollars to fund all the upgrades ?

Problems:
Neale, Fyfe, Cripps, Phillips+ 5 under performing rookies (Fullarton, Koschitzke, Sharp, Scott, Hunter)
Opportunities:
Walker, Jordon, Boak, Brayshaw, Butters, Impey

Thoughts:
Jordon is a must have rookie. With so many under performing rookies, will need to get creative on cash generation. A swap from Neale to Walker and back to Neale in 3 weeks would net $276k and only lose 53 points based on estimates (but would be less in reality given money wouldn't stay in kitty for two long). Not saying I'd bring Neale back in necessarily, but just pointing out logic that you almost make $300k on the two trades as is.

Fyfe, Cripps and Phillips all survive and given more time to improve. Neale to Jordon, Fullarton up to Walker, and $500k to continue fixing under performing rookie issues over next few weeks.

Aren't you restructuring if you do that? Taranto was picked as a keeper, while Tex is a mid price cash cow who will need to be retraded once he has made cash. This means you are using a minimum of 2 trades on a spot where you originally planned for zero. While Tex is a good money maker, dont bugger up your team by forcing a trade when trying to get him in.
Yeah in a way I would be - though having brought Titch in for Danger last week has also changed my structure (going from 6 and 3 deep in the MID and FWD lines respectively to 7 and 2) so bringing Tex in for either TT or Cripps helps align my side to more like what I had heading into R1.

Jones would be the only player in my side I would really like to move for either Berry or McDonald, however I am stuck in a position where I can't get him to either without culling someone in midfield. The equation really boils down to Cripps/TT and Jones vs Berry and Walker/McDonald.

I haven't got my head around Impey yet. When he was at Port he was the biggest turnover merchant. Sure we didn't have any forwards to kick to, but he was great at picking out the opposition.

Does anyone know when m crouch is coming back? Tossing up between impey and Berry.

same here, tossed up butters, dunk, phillips and went phillips. butters reminds me of my early call on simpkin last year.

trades this week: sharp>jordon
and one of;- phillips>dunkley/butters or jones>impey? better cash gen from jones>impey and phillips is sideways
holding danger, cripps. clark, daniher doing minimum necessary

thoughts?

team rnd2 2166pts
laird,ridley,daniel, doc,stewart,clark - kosi,highmore
oliver, macrae, zerrett, walsh, cripps, powell, gulden, berry, - scott, sharp, brockman
grundy, flynn, hunter
danger, phillips, ziebell, daniher, campbell, warner- jones, rowe
I think if you're dead set on ditching Phillips then you have to go for Dunkley vs North, it's the safer option and equals things up with everyone who already has him.

I think for you though, as long as you really think Impey passes the eye test and can average 75+ (I didn't see the Hawthorn game so can't judge) then it's probably better to ditch Jones who will absolutely stagnate with that 5 now and bring in more cash gen.

Think I am going Jones>Jordon via dpp and Cripps to Dunkley via dpp at the moment. I am worried I might miss a big score from Dunks vs North so will likely skip extra cash gen and hope more is just up around the corner. All the best.

Yeah, Its a gamble but the more i think about it the more i think Neale will be a great POD if he decides to do well

Heres the team...

Heres the team...
Caldwell - > JordOn via Campbell
Rowell - Ridley via DPP

Lock them in , throw away the key.

Briggs , Clark , Sharp could be risky very soon

Hide Briggs on your defence bench , move Sharp to your mid bench and field Powell.

Nice team

I've got Powell, Berry, Meek and Rowe on the bench this round post trades... complimented by playing but not booming Kozi, Sharp, Scott and Fullerton. My experience so far is that the cash generation is out there, but as you say not everyone is that fortunate. And, when I get an additional 3 donuts this round I might stop singing this tune... The bigger issue might be whether enough second round rookies show up at the right time. Chapman, I'm looking at you.

I'm starting to think that Tex is coming in for instant cash.

J. Higgins -> Tex
Caldwell-> Jordon

Means I'll pass in Warner, but probably have enough Swans rookies.

Also means I'm keeping Cripps and many other so-so performers.

Neale's next home game is in Marvel now, I'm pretty sure he played 95% of all of his games last season in Queensland as well. Not sure how he does down in Marvel?
He's playing Collingwood can't be that bad. Surely Fagan has been in his ear about resilience. Think he should tell him not to wear his brownlow during the game, as it can get heavy. 😜

Anyone with Cripps and Taranto willing to carry them for now? It's not like Cripps has scored significantly worse than more expensive options like Neale, JKelly and Merrett (the latter two are my m2 and m3 and I have no desire to get rid of them). Taranto you would expect a couple of low games anyway. The first half against Richmond was evidence that Crippa can still dominate.
2 rookie corrections this week, I’ll worry about them later. Taranto at least showed he could accidentally ton up last week.
