Option A: Bring in Powell, pushes Highmore off the field to D7 (L. Young @ D6), leaves Rowe onfield at F6
Option B: Bring in Impey, leaves Highmore onfield at D6, pushes Rowe off the field to F7 (Warner @ F6)

Would prefer Powell over Impey, but means a potential point sacrifice over the coming weeks. Thoughts?
Who are you trading out? Is there room for both trades, or have you got the rest of the main cows?

My current move is Neale & Cripps to Butters & Jordon. Provides enough cash to then get to Boak/Oliver/Mitchell & Ridley the following week from Phillips + a non-performing rookie.
Just checking Phillips is not injured? I see everyone is rushing to piss him off. Yes, his DE was horrific, but we knew that already when we picked him. He had 24 disposals, so can find the footy. I am going to keep him in the short term at least and see what happens.

To get him, I have to trade out Daniher, then I have to factor in that Daniher will make $80-100k anyway. In that case, the extra coin (say $80k more) from Tex, does not make the trade worthwhile. In my case, he doesn't make sense. For someone with a different problem, he might be perfect.
You have to remember that this is a game of scoring points and not of making money. They may make the same amount of money in the end but if Tex can make it 5 rounds earlier than Daniher and you can upgrade to a premo 5 rounds earlier then you could be getting an extra 40-50 points for those 5 rounds.

It's obviously more complicated than that but hopefully you get my point.

No I don't think he is - and I'm not set on moving on Philips - more so if by next week he continues in the 70's I'll use the money elsewhere. If he bounces back then it will be a daniher / clark type that may go up to ridley.

Yep, not injured but just had a stinker of a day DE wise. Even though he hasn't got great disposal at the best of times, I doubt he goes at 45% again this season. Caleb Daniel had a similar sort of game but I don't see masses trading him out, and yes I know he has better disposal than Phillips but my point remains.

Phillips is certainly on notice though.

I think Daniel played well for a lot of the game, and made some uncharacteristic errors at other times. Not concerned by him at all.

Why only a mid as a replacement though ?

Do you have DPP for :-

* speculative defender
* $ 200-325k defender currently scoring 90+
* Heeney
* $200-325k forward currently scoring 90+
* midfield rookie

plenty of options if you are not convinced on Cerra
Structure the main reason I am looking at a mid. Already have 5 premo defenders and HYoung so not that keen on bringing in a speculative defender as I want Lloyd at some stage.

Forwards are a good option though. Thanks for that, plenty to ponder.

Totally get that Herbie, I just think they will score similarly from here. IMO Tex has had his 2 best rounds for the season, and i'm not burning the trade to get him. I will only be doing Bruhn to Jordon, and will hold Dow rather than get Berry. 28 trades left.

At this stage, my first trade is to bring Jordon in, so the 2nd trade is more of a luxury, contemplating downgrading Cripps to either Powell or Impey, and using the cash next week (so as to not miss the price rises this week).

Daniel just had a terrible 30 minutes where everything that could go wrong did go wrong. His confidence might have been impacted at the time but he just had a nightmare for a while. I couldn't see any reason to be worried about him apart from one below par score.

Looking at these two as my first trades of the season...

Cripps ---> Ridley
Sharp ---> Jordan

Jordan Clark swings to the MIDs, giving me the 5 Premium DEF with Highmore at D6.

Just wish I backed my gut feel in the week leading into round one, was going off Cripps big time but in the end decided to back him in with the value he represented at the price. The annoying thing is, after a few other changes, Ridley was essentially the player removed from my side to keep Cripps in which rubs a bit of salt into the wounds. Anyway, I move on and keep going from here, with Fyfe and Dangerfield on the bench this week I desperately need the rookies to deliver.

Would do those without hesitation.

If you have all the right rookies, why not "correct" Daniher to Tex?

Daniher is looking like a slow burn and his scoring does not match his price point.

Really struggling with trades at the moment. I'm leaning toward trading Fyfe to Ridley and swinging A.Fyfe to mid. that will really shore up my backline and allow me to trade up Jones to Campbell who is the only must have rookie I appear to be missing. I know Fyfe may only miss a week but you never know with concussion and his injury history. Otherwise I can hold trades or be tempted to trade neale.

Currently $49,700 in the bank.

LAIRD, DANIEL, STEWART, SHORT, Kosi, Highmore (Sharp, A.Fyfe)

NEALE, OLIVER, MACRAE, FYFE, TARANTO, Powell, Gulden, Jordan (Berry, Brockman, McNeil)

GAWN, GRUNDY (Flynn)

DUNKLEY, DUSTY. Zeibell, Warner, Scott, Rowe (Fullarton, Jones)

That is a very nice looking side

I don't own Neale or Fyfe so not sure what I do.

Think Campbell is a must have though.

Does this work ?

Sharp - > Murray (not sure if he plays with Kelly due back)
Jones - > Campbell

Could leave you exposed in defence.

Otherwise you could always trade one of Gawn or Grundy out 😉

Taranto - > Campbell
Sharp - > Cumming or Jiath or Markov
