I'm not sure Impey needs to be a keeper to be a successful pick. If he makes $150k and keeps a dodgy rookie out of D6 I think that would be a win. Strongly considering Impey myself straight for Young instead of Chapman (similar to @gunslinga) and bring in Chapman for Kosi if Highmore is not selected. Allows for an easy upgrade if he doesn't bomb.
Depends on who you are trading I guess. You are trading out an injured player no cash generation, while I will be trading out a maybe playing rookie Brockman, who will also make some coin. Guess my trade could depend if Brockman is named or not.

I started Impey and brought Tex in. Tex has a good run for three games, should get to $500k-525k. cannot throw an 80 otherwise stalls at $500k. Should be solid this week. cash regeneration only, expect, he may slow down against good sides. I will be surprised if he is a keeper.

Impey has a ziebell type role this year and unless he is shutdown, should push $400-500k. given his price is 118k cheaper, I would be picking him out of the two.

history not as relevant as Impey new to this role and Tex is fitter, tackling more and fast flowing game suits him. Adelaide also looking for him and doesn't have that much competition in the team.
How new is Impey’s role? Was he a small forward before his knee injury?

Last weekends team as it was on the ground. Scored 2163, 167k in bank.

Plan is Martin to the mids via Rowe, Henry to impy who's looking like a keeper.
Kosi (rubbish) to Chapman.

Weekend team, ignore the c and vc choices atm.
Expecting highmore to return very soon, and Campbell's playing Nth so expecting a bounce back.
Thoughts and feedback greatly appreciated.

Am keeping Brockman because no other options atm and will put out a decent score or two to make cash. Just never put him on the field. Traded Spud Koski for chapman.

Hayden young to Chapman and that’s it for this week. Down to 26 trades after this and I’m trying to save as much as I can for later in the season.

The only issues I have in my side atm are Dow and Sharp but I can look to do something with them next week with someone like Waterman.
Other than Chapman are there any must have rookies this week?

The role is new, this year only is my understanding. Same as Ziebell, Heppell.

With his speed, he is very good giving off the ball and collecting back. Different to the traditional half back flanker. More want Boyd did in his later years.

Did it in the prison game for half a game and had a high scoring rate. Injury risk is the biggest issue. Not sure he is a keeper, focus first on whether he makes money.

Anyone got Clarke and Phillips?
Both ave in low to mid 70’s both been very disappointing thus far.
Thinking on trading them or hold for now?
Easy swaps to impey or tex, even both......

Got both but Hayden Young and a non rookie defender are my priorities this round. I already have Tex and think Impey is also a good idea.

Impey actually played the same half back role before he did his knee in 2019. There was a period there for maybe a couple of months right before he got injured that he was really, really good, playing very similarly to how he has to start this year.

When he came back for 5 games last year he played mainly forward, with a short stint or two across half back. You can pretty much write off his 5 games last year, that was essentially just to get a run in his legs before a full preseason this year.

Could do Fullarton > Impey, Clark > Chapman

Not sure if that's just chasing Impey, and instead should just leave the trades for this week and only consider getting Chapman if I'm facing a def donut

'B'....................get 'Impey' in asap.....................the way he looks, he could be a real jewel for owners this year.

'Chapman' has a BE of -41 and expected to rise $46K given a good next game...........................time's right to get him in too now.

Good deciding mate...........................

Is it worth trading out Campbell to get in Impey? Only other way I could make it happen would be same as above - downgrade Clark to Chapman - but would rather swap out an underperforming rookie in Sharp or Kosi, or could maybe choose another forward to move on such as Daniher. Thoughts?

Would love to get rid of Dow or Cahill but only really want to do it for a keeper at this stage because I already have almost $300k wasting away. Problem is the only players that potentially fit that description are Walker (eep) and Bowes (more eep?) that I can afford with the cash in my stash.

Point of no return on Neale. If I don’t trade this week he has to be held all year.

Looking to restructure from 3 rookie rucks.

Neale -> impey , Hunter -> grundy which would make my structure:

6-0-2
4-0-7
1-0-2
2-2-4

I dislike the trade and it still leaves a number of problem premo’s that i might now be stuck with.

Welcome opinions on whether dropping a premo mid and ruck rookie for a premo ruck and mid price forward makes sense for a current 3 rookie ruck team?

Rather than force a trade you aren't happy with, why not go down to a bubble boy and build the warchest even more? Then you can get the premo you really want next week or whenever suits.

Kosi to Chapman seems decent if you're worried about your cashcow stocks. Don't trade Campbell.
