I want to have Heeney's children 😀

Have emailed Virtual Sports and asked them if he can remain permanently in my side for the next 29 years.

I only need 29 players to win this competition !!!

Actually keeping him this round and trading out Daniel instead.
I wasn't having a go Herb.

Haven't seen too many talking about bring Dangerfield in, he's back this week isn't he?
Why do you need him ? He is only averaging 92.

In all seriousness though with Atkins , Hind , Impey , Walker , Ziebell & Warner a lot of people will need to field Dangerfield , Dunkley , Martin , Zorko (maybe) in the mids.

Sidebottom could be under $ 450k soon.

Will we still need Marshall ?

How do you fit them all in ?

Those that held Dangerfield might have a very nice POD.

I dont see Waterman as a must have. To me he is Rowe Mk2, with less job security. Has kicked 2 goals as a small fwd in each game, if he doesn't score those he is a 20-50 player on the fringe of the best 22. That said he is bargain basement cheap, and probably only needs to play 3 more games with one of them an 80 to get you $100k, anything more than that is a bonus.

The risk is if he plays poorly V Swans & scores a 20, he gets dropped.
I actually think his JS is pretty good - he is something Essendon has been screaming out for - a forward who can go back and kicked simple goals with a straight and reliable kick. Daniher and to lesser extent Hooker has given supporters nightmares of wasted opportunities in front of goal.
With 2m Peter having to play lots more ruck time to cover Sam Draper being out long term, Waterman is there to fill the void, alongside Stringer.
He also took courageous marks and presents well. By no means going to average 80 or whatever, but should tick away nicely and at 102k is dirt cheap.
To me he's a no brainer to bring in.

We played Swans last week, you mean V Lions?

Prob going against the grain here but im leaning towards Keeping daniel and butters (Warner will be his on field replacement).

So trades are looking like -
Degoey > Gurthrie/Dunkley/Boak/Oliver

and maybe get waterman in to get some $ going. Only issue is used 5 trades already

Am torn whether Daniel deserves the boot - maybe just one bad week? He's normally pretty reliable.

Can do Campbell > Waterman via DPP and Daniel to Ridley, but feels sideways and putting me up against it to fully upgrade. Have already used 5 trades.

My forward line already has Tex, Ziebell, Dunkley, Atkins and Impey.
Thinking of going further left field and complementing it with the great man Jake Stringer.
This year playing in the guts and running forward.
2nd most cba’s for Essendon, averaging 105.
-45 B/E, could go up 60k this week.

A little injury prone is a concern, but could a fun ride.

In spite of my earlier protestations it looks like I’m going to bring in Steele for Jelly 🙄 Really hate trading him but his role is so bad that, as good as Kelly is, he could have a couple of 70 games and lose too much money. Steele looks really solid. As soon as I do it of course Kelly’s be sent back to the middle but that’s the game we play.

Debating if Waterman is worth the trade? It would be Jordan out for him. Jordan looked quite good in the first two games - maybe he just needs a week off to come back and kill it 🤔

I suspect most are willing to wait and see what his role is / how he scores after a round 1 score of 92 and BE of 152.

Having said that, did I see that he was in less than 1% of the top 5,000 teams?? If so, it's not a bad roll of the dice POD. Playing at Kardinia v the Roos certainly provides the opportunity

Seems like such a high risk, low-medium reward play.

Just out of interest, how many "keepers" do you currently have in your team?

I'm in a similar situation where I've only used 3 trades so far (2 forced ones due to injuries to Rowell & H.Young and the other trade for a rookie correction).
However I only have 13 "keepers" at the moment and that's if you include Daniel. I'm slightly reluctant to trade sideways but looking at a bench donut this week unless Kosch or Highmore get picked. Highmore is unlikely to and even if Kosch plays I doubt he'll score much anyways.

Got about 145k in the bank. Not sure if it's worthwhile doing a sideways trade. If I did it might be to get T.Stewart (who I'm regretting not starting with).

Also got a few non-playing rookies at the moment (Bergman, Sharp). Might need to use another trade to get Waterman in if he is a must-have. That would leave me with 25 trades for 9 upgrades. Which does not sound promising at all.
Looking ahead, L.Jones could also be on the bubble next week.

Too many uncertainties and not enough trades! Just don't know what to do lol
Depends what counts as a keeper. I would probably call it 12 + Duggan + Ziebell so you could potentially call it 14, including Daniel.

Also in the exact same scenario that I'll have a donut if I keep Daniel, but I just think he's probably not going to end up as a top 6-10 anyway so really not sure to do

As a non owner I'm certainly nervous what he may do against the Rotten Roos this week. Had that 229 against them in 2016 and they are a far less competitive side now. So I can understand the appeal of bringing him in, although Dunks is the guy I'm targeting myself.

Also nothing wrong with holding a couple of Danger/Dusty/Dunks/Zorks types in your MID until spots free up in the FWD once the cash cows have peaked. Hind, Warner and even Atkins very likely aren't season long keepers and that's coming from someone who started Atkins.

2016 is a long time ago though

Imagine if Atkins , Hind , Impey , Walker & Ziebell all do end up season long keepers though , will certainly make for some interesting decisions.

Keep scoring around that 90 - 95 mark might be tough to trade out.

Daniels and jordan Clark out for CJ and bowes? Thoughts?
Or should I just go Daniels to Ridley?

It wasn't necessarily the suspension or even the 19 he scored as the main reason I'm trading him out - that's just the excuse I needed - but it's both his form and his role this season. He could very well improve his form for sure but he just isn't as important to the Dogs plans out of defence this season. The role is just not as fantasy friendly as it was in recent years and he may not even be best 22 if he keeps paying the way he has lately (sic).

As Youtuber Jords Supercoach (who goes by the avatar @manyproblems here) discussed in-depth in a recent video purely on Daniel, there are manifold reasons why he is very likely no longer in the top 10 defender conversation this season.

So I suggest you check out the video if you require further convincing. In fact so astute was Jords that he saw the writing on the wall and actually traded out Daniel just BEFORE he played the Lions. He is on the brink of the top 100 now after posting a score well over 2300 on the weekend and has been a top 1K finisher the past 3 seasons iirc. So he knows his Supercoach and he knows a broken premium when he sees one.

Of course both Daniel's form AND his role could significantly improve, that's certainly not impossible, but I don't like the odds myself. So he has to go for me as someone playing strictly for overall rank this season.

Trying to stop myself from weighing up him or Heppell... but I just keep getting pulled back in!

Wish I had your fwd-line but I missed the Atkins and Impey boat

Butters has to go, best case he's out 8 weeks. Just grab Waterman and bank the cash for next week and you can get a week ahead on upgrade schedule with a few good options on each line ready to go.
