Ok so current mindset is
-Butters out
-And have to get either Waterman or another playing defender as cash generation is low, But i also dont have any subs for defence
Any ideas?

I was thinking Butters to either Dunkley, Tex or the ever risky Impey?
Feel like Dunkley is the safest option, but since im late on Tex I'll have to either get him now or wait for his BE to catch him?
Impey same as Tex, although the door hasnt closed yet

Although i could go Butters to Waterman but that means Zieball is F1, which doesnt feel right

I have no clue on whats going on in defense so i think I'll have more of a look in that area

I also have 200k in bank

Any ideas or feedback is welcome, thanks

BH,

Dunkley straight off.................keeper he every day of the week.

Waterman makes $$$$'s this week..........................so no brainer him.

Defence ??

Next week look at another 'possible' $$$$'s grab with Port's L Jones.......................currently $140K odd........................61 pts first game so close watch this week........................better performance again from him and he's another no-brainer trade.

Personally, after closely watching both 'Ziebell' & 'Impey' roles to date.........................I wouldn't be surprised both end up year keepers fwiw.

Good choosing mate

Just a tad more on FWD'S @ the moment.

I'd imagine many here watch 'On The Couch' (on Fox)......................they made an interesting comment/graph for goal kickers generally to date this year...................great early round kicking numbers that are now dropping right off....................something to keep in mind for the likes of 'Tex/Stringer', etc..........................as buys now

I've got 'Tex'.........................thinking next week of punting him and say Logan McD for either of 'Steele/Guthrie/Titch' and Jones of the PTE variety.

Ahhhh supercoach forwards.....................the kicking type...................might be an early worry sign as the coaches of the AFL work the better game strategies ??

Thinking it is time for Phillips to go but have used 5 trades already...Is there any chance he pushes for top 6?

Can go straight to Impey/Greene, or down to Waterman and have 400k+ for the coming weeks.

Or do none of them and calm down a bit on the trades front!!!

Am ranked 400ish...thanks as always!

I seriously doubt it, he's too much of ball butcher to score huge in SC, a little better suited to DT formats for mine. I flicked him to Ridley via DPP after two weeks of watching him turnover the footy.

There are others keeping the faith and he certainly isn't a must trade out by any means, as he continues to hold his value. Just not sure there's much more there than an 80-85 average which would make for a fairly crappy F6 if you ask me.

Can’t tell you what to do, but Sidebottom, Marshall types set for substantial price drops over the next couple of weeks, might as well hold and jump when the price differential is at its smallest if they pass the eye test.
Not harming you as it stands to stand pat briefly and see how those play out.

Thanks, worth jumping to Impey or burning a trade for the sake of it and better off just going to Waterman? Wanted Impey last week but Flynn out saw a late change of plan.

Tough choice. If you are going to field the guy then I'd go the Imp and hope he doesn't get injured. I started him and reasonably confident after watching his juicy defender role and good form that he should be a keeper. There are no guarantees of course and durability is an ever present concern.

By the same token it's also hard to pass up on a basement rookie that is looking the goods. I have a similar choice in going Waterman or crossing to the dark side and rolling the dice on Stringer. Trading out say Scott for Waterman is probably the right thing to do long term. However it's kind of unexciting to net only $50K and bring in another rookie who may not be all that much better, even though the indicators appear positive after two weeks of data. Although to be fair same could be said of a Daniher -> Stringer sideways trade.

I also wouldn't have to expose Waterman to my ground every week and could comfortably bench him instead but that may not be true for every coach's situation. It will be interesting to see what he returns up at the Gabba this weekend.

Not to confuse or anything, but this is also something which happens every year - in terms of scoring (goals / points) and forward scoring in SC being higher over the first minth or so and then dropping back as coaches have more info and are better able to plan to counteract the opponent based on exposed gameplay. Not just a thing this year.
No idea what else they went into, but there’d be confounding factors galore this year for anyone looking to genuinely analyze it.

For all of the Stringer discussion, I haven't seen Wingard mentioned yet.
Notably some $200k more pricey but also looks to be getting good volume of mid minutes and unlike Stringer who has Shiel to come back easier to build a case on maintaining an acceptable F6 avg through the season.
Trade in Spudgard at your own risk! He left my season in tatters last year... :cautious:

Sheil won't be back this year.

Still don’t think I have the nerve to bring in Stringer though.

“Fast footy has been celebrated right around the game – and yet on the weekend (RD4) there was a bit of a hand-break put on. The trends of the game are trending well bar the weekend “ – G Healy

“Correction is the word we’re using for the early start of the season – where the ball just flew from the defensive 50 to the forward 50” – G Lyon
“That’s the full forward line (top), the more it goes up the more the full forwards kick goals – the more it goes down the less ‘Tex’ gets” – G Healy

Small sample of course.............4x rds..........but interesting I thought.

Stoppages per game jump is interesting last rd.

Thinking of trading Daniher to waterman as I’m reluctant to let go of most rookies just yet.

if I do with the change I can trade someone like Brockman to one of those annoying M8 types. Guys like Taranto, B Crouch, parish. are they worth it? It’s either that or have cash sitting for a while until I make enough moves to get someone more elite.
