Don't know if it's been said but us Dusty non-owners got lucky tonight. 34 and a goal can translate to a very big SC score. We're lucky Dusty butchered it!
Edit: I see it has been said. Lots thinking it!
On the flipside as someone who watched the game and doesn't have Dusty I'm actually kind of dirty how good his ratio was, he was absolutely terrible last night and his ratio was a kiss on the **** from CD. Kind of game where you expected him to have 110 in DT (didn't notice him not marking/tackling in the game) and about 75SC he was that bad. Basically he was a far worse version of what Taranto dished up last week and he was a 129:90 type game.
Not sure how Ben Long gets a game ahead of Highmore personally, with Webster injured also he has to come in next week you would think.
Saints were just insipid in the 2nd half, expect many changes next week - Brad Hill literally checked out tonight after being very good the week before v WCE. Certainly not a 800K a year player that’s for sure, way too many games he goes completely missing.
To be fair I imagine that his ability to play at both ends makes him a preferable choice for the sub even if that ability is somewhat questionable.
Ratten does a lot of odd things as a coach, one of those coaches who has an inherent need to get cute and do things his own way whether it makes sense or is good for the team. Had the same problem at Carlton.
Gut feel call - tempted to play Bergman
I'll be playing him. He's replacing Duursma on a wing, great role for him. Doesn't mean he'll score well but his role is considerably better than Rowe/Scott/Waterman/Brockman and he's not Dow... Even if he's flicked to the HB and they go with Jones, Hartlett or Burton to the wing it's still a much better role.
I'm fully ready for the 20 but I'll die on the hill his role is better!
Agree. For those considering bringing him in, how's his JS now with injuries and so forth?
@BigRuss ?
Personally I think he's got a chance to hold it but he's going to have to perform. Rockliff, Farrell and SPP are all on the fringe right now nipping for a spot and they've got enough versatile guys to pick them in other positions and rearrange the structure. Right now though Bergman is getting the first crack at and I expect he probably takes the wing slot to kick things off. Hopefully can take advantage.
