Would ideally bring in two premos this week but looking at the pipeline, it feels like grabbing a Farrar type this week (or potentially a Deven Robertson) this week and a Frederick ) Murphy type the week after.
Doesn't seem like other options will be that viable?

I don't think it's rubbish.

Reckon Gutherie is a 120 ave player without Danger and 100 player without. If Danger misses 6 more, even he plays every game afterwards, based on some mental math Gutherie is expected to average 108 from here, which makes him an acceptable pick.

The upside only increases if Danger misses more than 6 (he's currently listed as 6-10). There are better options at that price however, with Bont and Oliver being the clear standouts to me.
As a Geelong supporter I really dont think Guthrie is a 120 mid, we throw too many different combinations in there to cover Danger and it impacts whether he scores 75 or 130+.

This is a guy who was AA and only averaged 103 at the end of the day.

As much as every fibre in my body wants to kick Cripps to the curb, I think the smarter play is probably making my first upgrade.

Debating two possible combos being Cripps/Dunkley out for Walsh/Bont (the sexy route) vs Campbell/Dunkley out for Zorko/Sidebottom (the unsexy route).

Thoughts and feelings? Fellow Cripps owners where we at?

I think you're missing the key condition that is Danger missing.

Gutherie has had extraordinary SC points per minute statistics over the past 2 years, but simply lacks TOG and midfield minutes to score at a premium. (Although after double checking, the difference is only 5-10% ish in TOG/CBA, so maybe this lacks evidence?)

Gutheris has averaged 134 this season without Danger, with a similar trend last year, think 120 without Danger is conservative.

Its more the 100k in the bank that makes me want Macrae over Robertson, gets you a long way to the next upgrade.
Have to see on the Macrae front if he is named.
Only a handful of CBAs, role was fwd pocket / HFF in the main that I saw and he wasn't overly productive.
Hope he holds (and is given more of a run through the middle), but it's no sure thing.

I wouldn't have too much FOMO on the Heeney front. < @Herbie66 don't read this part but he is a perpetual accident waiting to happen. > :p

Zorko could be a real beneficiary in terms of CBAs and general on-ball time with Neale missing games so I'm definitely interested there and was kind of kissed bringing him into my RDT side last week. If he can clean up his stupid frees against and clanger count he will be an even better fantasy scorer.

But if you really want Heeney he is fairly cheap already and can score quite nicely WHEN fit and firing, even playing predominantly forward. I'm certainly not going to argue with the 5th ranked coach for the round. You should be giving the rest of us advice this week not the other way around.
Currently owned by 9,779 people so I will be definitely monitoring his ownership figures in the next few rounds 😀

Guthrie doesn't have the tank to be a high TOG player, busts his gut and comes off the ground, that wont change with or without Danger.

64 really tests the resolve. although has been 90 ave prior to this. May bottom out 30-40k less, not a lot in the scheme of things.

Does have Essendon this week, could they play him into form. Most mids go real large vs them.

Really a question of how many trades used for injuries. Can always trade him later in the season, cannot get the trade back,

If you haven't used that many, trade him out. he doesn't look as if he will recover to 105 levels which would make him a reasonable M8.

The bar is coming down with all these injuries though, where a 90 ave may be acceptable, not as a M8, just as a warm body.

I have Taranto who is a 94 player currently, difference is because I paid $450k for him there is no mental anguish. It is about what his value is today and what you think he averages.

If you think you have enough trades in the bank to do the sideways options now without harming the chance to complete your team later on, then by all means you can go down the luxury route you suggested.

I'm not a Cripps owner myself but the second option sounds better IMO. Cripps form can always turn around however a rookie in Campbell is dropping in price (and form!) hence should be upgraded. Zorko is a solid option but not too sure about Sidebottom. Regardless, they're both better than Campbell.
Push comes to shove, you can always sideways trade Cripps later on once your team is complete.

Throwing the magnets around, how does
Dunkley + Clark -> Walsh & Greene sound?

Am I buying a world of pain and disappointment with Greene, or do we have version 2.0 who is more mature and reliable?

I'm not 100% convinced it matters whether he is or not. Certainly he seems to miss out on frees for (and give away frees against) that the average player would get. Not to mention the Giants do not look a good side at all so he could get stranded at times.

Of course even despite that he's still averaging 100 so it's absolutely not a bad shout, and captaincy seems to suit him. I'd be lying if I said he wasn't on my radar.

Mateeee you potentially have 17-18 keepers?! Such a solid team!! Kept patience with Sloane, Jelly & Cripps as well!
Just wondering how many trades you have left after you've made the two you suggested above?
18 as I have used all possible trades so far. A couple of stupid trades which involved Grundy and Dow to S Martin and D Martin in RD2 as well as having to deal with the likes of Clark, Hunter, Neale, etc. Hopefully the underperforming premiums can start to get a roll on to compensate for the poor start. Will be targeting Ridley, Mitchell, Heeney and Gawn to replace Chapman, Warner, Jordon and Flynn over the next 4-8 rounds.

He is in pretty good form. For me it's just the ole durability chestnut rather than the "no d***head policy" as I think he's actually become a better leader than Cogs. But he hasn't played more than 16 games in a season in over 5 years!

If I was to take a flutter on any of these injury prone pricks like Buddy, Greene or Heeney - it would probably the latter once he's dropped to below $375K and posted at least one ton, if not two. Not keen at paying over $500K for a FWD who is liable to fall apart any any point. I've already had my fill of injuries this season and trades are dwindling.

North supporters, what's Atu Bosenavulagi's job security like? Have been impressed with this first two games for North, has started games well but along with the rest of his team in the last two games he hasn't finished games off, has been on 50 and 40 odd at half time in the last two games, playing across the half back line. Not the greatest price but with a bit of forward line carnage he could be a decent on field option for the next few weeks whilst worse rookies are upgraded/removed off field elsewhere.

So this leaves me with 19 trades left and a Bank of $ 335,600.00

Team is :-

RIDLEY , STEWART , LLOYD , LAIRD * , DANIEL , Highmore / Jones , Mansell

MACRAE , BOAK , MERRETT , BRAYSHAW , D MARTIN * , CRIPPS , Powell , JordOn / Berry , McNeil , Fyfe *

GRUNDY , Flynn / Meek

ZIEBELL , IMPEY , ZORKO * , Warner , Fantasia * , Rowe / McCreery , Fullarton *

D6-8 the obvious issue.

Daniel & Cripps both underwhelming.

Need Flynn to keep playing.

Next updates will be Warner & Rowe most likely to "value" in Heeney & May.

Will ride Powell & JordOn as long as possible.

NFI how I will upgrade D6 , Flynn & Fantasia

But I am sure many are in a similar (or worse) position , hats off to those without issues/problems.
I dunno, but your team looks ok. I wouldn't panic yet, but I'm relying on Flynn playing 1 more game, by then he's done his job and is ripe for upgrading. You can't rely on him playing more than 3 or so games in a row, so he'd be the 1st on my upgrade list, particularly with no bench cover. There's a few options available with that amount of dosh that will only cost 1 trade. Will give you 16 'premos' and 18 trades left to upgrade 6 players. A lot of players would be happy to be in your position, hell, there's even room for luxury trades later.

Sidebottom , Zorko in the forwards.

Martin & Marshall dropping , Heeney.

Would need to check BE and projections to work out the best time to cash in.

May in defence

Use Dunkley's money to fund another upgrade next round.

Flynn keeps playing his money gets you 2 upgrades (Powell & JordOn)

Just need to look for the value when it presents , would gladly swap sides.
These are some good suggestions which had me thinking (sometimes outside of the box!)...

Ok so just gonna leave this here in case I forget later on...!

This round:
Out: Neale & Dunkley
In: Zorko + either Heeney/Sidebottom or if I'm feeling super brave...Hawkins :eek::LOL:

Will leave me with around $300k in the bank.
Can then upgrade either Warner or Gulden to a Steele/Bont/Marshall in round 8

Round 9:
Out: Chapman and one of Warner/Gulden
In: May (should be worth around the 400k mark) + rookie

Round 10:
Out: Powell + one of Scott/McNeil
In: Dusty + rookie

Will leave me with 5 upgrades left to do and 17 trades to do them.
Then again...this is all assuming no other premo player gets a long term injury...!
