Breakdown of options heading into Rd 7.

Can use Dunkley trade to get Flynn up to Gawn, but it would mean needing to go with either Thilthorpe or FMacrae, and I'm not sure either of those are great moves.

Zorko looks to be the most popular option for Dunkley, given Marshall is still overpriced, but would be a great POD for a time if he keeps performing like he did this week.

Tom Mitchell still finding plenty of the ball, but average has dropped right away, and could be near $500k in a week or two.

With the forward debacle, I'm not sure I can bring in Gawn this week - and am wondering if I can afford to get him at all. Dunkley provides an avenue, but then I'll be left with a very bare cupboard up forward, and sweating on rookies.

Anyone else looking at other Ruck options? Of course I want Gawn, just don't know if there is enough cash gen to address mid and fwd issues.

I guess there is also the feeling that I can't afford not to get Gawn.
I would say Marshall even though overpriced would be the option until you can afford another avenue

I also am very keen - and I agree its a bit early for him.

I am thinking of bringing Zorko to the forward line and bring in 2 mids.

I will look to upgrade Tex to Grundy in a few rounds.
Here's the numbers for them Tiga............................just in case you didn't know them............

Zorko.........BE 83 and proj. + $3K

Tex...............BE 102 and proj. + $7K

Grundy.......BE 96 and proj. + $17K

And, Grundy up against GCS's novice ruc's this week..............................solid VC option AND could score anything this upcoming round !!

Good numbers all of those.......................choose good

The Fwd situation hasn't left me with much choice other than to go with 2nd tier rucks, I was lucky enough to bring in Ziebull last week before he rose 60k, if I hadn't then I wouldn't be able to afford RO'B this week and Marshall next week. I had Dunkley and Dusty to deal with (holding Dusty) I'm still running with Garner at F2 and my priority is to sort rucks 1st and Fwd 2nd, Marshall, in time, will move forward but I doubt I'll have the $ to upgrade to Gawn so another ruck will have to do.

Thought Sidebottom would be a more popular trade in target this week (not in Top 10 most traded in players). Building fitness after interrupted preseason, required in the midfield now with Pies injuries. Still finding plenty of the ball, it's just disposal efficiency that's letting him down. He's usually a great user so I'm expecting that to improve. I'm leaning towards him over Zorko.

Does anyone remember last year the comment that Adam Treloar's stats were 'elite' as a mid and that his numbers were actually better than Lachie Neale's ??

With Dunk's gone.........................maybe worth the team mate, pocket the diff....................... he does look better and better each round to me.

A Treloar BE 105 and proj. + $8K - currently $568,600........................not too shabby if those elite numbers I'm recalling are right

I wouldn't have too much FOMO on the Heeney front. < @Herbie66 don't read this part but he is a perpetual accident waiting to happen. > :p

Zorko could be a real beneficiary in terms of CBAs and general on-ball time with Neale missing games so I'm definitely interested there and was kind of kissed bringing him into my RDT side last week. If he can clean up his stupid frees against and clanger count he will be an even better fantasy scorer.

But if you really want Heeney he is fairly cheap already and can score quite nicely WHEN fit and firing, even playing predominantly forward. I'm certainly not going to argue with the 5th ranked coach for the round. You should be giving the rest of us advice this week not the other way around.
Very good points mate!

I actually wasn't remotely interested in Heeney until I saw his price. You might have saved me from a decision I'll regret. The forward line is just such a crapshoot.

Zorko is definitely one I've got my eye on of I can make it work. As you say, could be a good month or two for him without Neale in the team.

Haha, it was an absolute fluke and a half 😂 I need all the help I can get.

With my team floundering in quicksand and both my F1 and M3 (potential M1) out it's not time for value or speculation.

Neale and Dunkley to Macrae and Zorko unless I find some elusive time for research.

Rookies have to wait another week.

As an aside having seen Brisbane first hand last week am surprised at not seeing Daniel Rich even being spoken about in this thread.

He is playing a very SC friendly role, takes almost all the kick ins and they very very obviously try to get the ball in his hands.

I for one will be looking at him in the not too distant future.

He hasnt been able to kick for 18 months, have serious doubts that changes personally.

IMHO The forward line is a basket case. Value options are scoring well enough to just leave it 'til last, as I have no idea who is going to be 95+ at years end. I will worry about everywhere else first, and leave the forward line until the byes, so Dunkley will turn into Robertson, Gulden to Petracca and that leaves $200k for an upgrade next week.

Even with all the carnage, excluding Danger and Dunkley who are long term outs, I'd still rate the following as significantly better than the rest (strong value, proven performance, stable role).

- Dusty
- Zorko
- Sidebottom
- Marshall
- Butters

Then include your Dangerfield once he's back and you have ur top 6.

All are old, injury niggles or both. Marshall has ongoing foot injury which could well see him managed throughout the season, but he is certainly on my radar. Dusty has the foot issue plus most already have him. Butters out for a while but certainly looked good before the ankle went. Sidey has had 1 good game in a pure mid role so I need to see more of that before I stump up, leaving Zorko as maybe the best option in my view, and should average 100+. Mids averaging 115+ look far more interesting to me.

Yeah you're not comparing them with "Mids averaging 115+" lol

You're comparing them with those Heeney/Bolton/other random bolters who despite younger age, have far inferior durability. As a Dusty non-owner, I know who I would prefer when the decision is between a 430k Dusty vs an unproven forward with no premium history

SIL said, Of those, option 1 by a fair way, but im not a massive fan of either. Brayshaw is 60 when tagged and 120 when not. I expect he gets tagged approx 50% of the time and so he averages 90 as a mid which is less than ideal for a guy priced at 100. Also Warner still making money.

Dunkley to Sidey just about locked in for me, going with the class and pedigree here with the lack of options forward.

Probably looking at Jordan Clark to Clayton Oliver with the other (banked some cash last week). Hard to see Clark getting a game after the 100 point win, and his B/E is now stuffed as well.

Will be the first time I've ever owner Oliver! Sick of not having the bloke, at a decent price and locked to be a top 10 mid IMO.

Skipping Robertson? My 2nd trade is also Robertson vs Oliver
