If this doesn't get Highmore a game, seriously St Kilda have been ****e.

Daniel McKenzie, St Kilda, has been charged with Engaging in Rough Conduct against Ollie Wines, Port Adelaide, during the third quarter of the Round Six match between Port Adelaide and St Kilda, played at Adelaide Oval on Sunday April 25, 2021.

In summary, he can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.

Perhaps one way to navigate rolling teams and implement set and forget is all our emgs are live. Eg we select our emgs on each line. Should a second player be out the other emgs score counts.
This would take it back to when they first came around and the end result is you picked genuine base priced donuts in the backs (would be forwards these days) and had extra midfielders on the pine. I can distinctly remember winning a copy of AFL monopoly for the weekly prize with a team that had Akermanis and Cousins as my emergencies in DT back in the day

Dunkley out for 3-4 months

https://www.westernbulldogs.com.au/news/921724/surgery-for-dunkley-jong

Dunkley dislocated his shoulder in the final quarter. He had scans today which confirmed he will require a reconstruction.
The star midfielder will face a significant period on the sidelines after a prolific start to 2021, where he has averaged more than 30 disposals and five clearances per game across the opening six rounds.
“Although we were initially optimistic that Josh may be able to avoid surgery, subsequent scans have confirmed the best way to manage Josh in the short-to-medium term is to have a full shoulder reconstruction,” head of sports medicine, Chris Bell, said.
“This surgery will be completed tomorrow. At this stage, we expect Josh to miss the next 3-4 months.”

Bonner in could impact Frederick.

Injury update: Bonner cleared to return to football
Defender Riley Bonner has been cleared to return to football after recovering from a hamstring injury.
By Loukas Founten - Just now

PORT ADELAIDE defender Riley Bonner has been cleared to return to play after recovering from a hamstring tendon injury sustained in round 1.
Despite suffering the injury only 6 weeks ago in the victory over North Melbourne, Bonner has been training strongly, and will be available for selection this week.
There were no new injuries out of Sunday night’s win over St Kilda but forward Trent Burgoyne injured his right hamstring in the SANFL game against Glenelg, and will have scans on Tuesday to assess the extent of the injury.
Defender Lachie Jones had successful surgery during the week after a syndesmosis injury, while Zak Butters is continuing his rehabilitation two weeks on from surgery for a similar injury.
Midfielder Jackson Mead is home from hospital and recovering from a lacerated spleen suffered in the SANFL Round 3 game against South Adelaide. He will not be allowed to train for a period while he recovers.
Young forward Ollie Lord is expected to miss a second game with a minor calf strain but experienced backman Tyson Goldsack is nearing a return from a knee injury.
Port Adelaide faces Brisbane at the Gabba on Saturday night from 7:25pm AEST / 6:55pm ACST.
The selected team will be named on Friday evening at 5:50pm ACST.
Injury list
Trent Burgoyne – hamstring (TBC)
Zak Butters – ankle (3-4 weeks)
Xavier Duursma – knee (10-12 weeks)
Tyson Goldsack – knee (1-2 weeks)
Lachie Jones – ankle (3-4 weeks)
Ollie Lord – calf (TBC)
Jackson Mead – spleen (TBC)
Jake Pasini – shoulder (8-9 weeks)

A predict mass celebrations when Highmore gets back in the team this week! Followed by much saddness and gnashing of teeth when he falls out of the team the week after...
he didn't play that badly those 1st 2 games, was rated highly too. Can't understand not giving him a go versus players like Webster, or Long. Now St Kilda have been exposed as finals frauds they have to play him.

I feel this is a must eventually. In real life you don't knowingly go into a game one man short. Ideally the E score would come from anywhere on your bench but I think most would find that one step too far.

I think a fair way could be we set one emergency for each line, which covers our first player out in each line. If we cop second player out, we just get the lowest scoring bench player from all lines (including all E's and non E's) that hasn't already been included in our 22. Lowest score kind of recognises a player is playing out of position, so may not score as well, but is better than a donut. I think NRL SC does something like this??

Exactly.

For me it's just a question of what mechanism is chosen to allow you to access another score from your bench.
