PORT ADELAIDE defender Riley Bonner has been cleared to return to play after recovering from a hamstring tendon injury sustained in round 1.
Despite suffering the injury only 6 weeks ago in the victory over North Melbourne, Bonner has been training strongly, and will be available for selection this week.
There were no new injuries out of Sunday night’s win over St Kilda but forward Trent Burgoyne injured his right hamstring in the SANFL game against Glenelg, and will have scans on Tuesday to assess the extent of the injury.
Defender Lachie Jones had successful surgery during the week after a syndesmosis injury, while Zak Butters is continuing his rehabilitation two weeks on from surgery for a similar injury.
Midfielder Jackson Mead is home from hospital and recovering from a lacerated spleen suffered in the SANFL Round 3 game against South Adelaide. He will not be allowed to train for a period while he recovers.
Young forward Ollie Lord is expected to miss a second game with a minor calf strain but experienced backman Tyson Goldsack is nearing a return from a knee injury.
Port Adelaide faces Brisbane at the Gabba on Saturday night from 7:25pm AEST / 6:55pm ACST.
The selected team will be named on Friday evening at 5:50pm ACST.
