I looked at Grundy 129 and thought Gawn is a reasonable chance, then grundy scaled to 144, man I am taking that. too late for me to change it. I was gutted. Then Gawn throws up today's piece of work. What a disaster. Sharing it with thousands of others makes it no better.
This is my type of thread!
I can whinge and complain on the internet
😁😁😁
For starters - MAX GAWN. Bring you in two weeks ago at peak price, now you lose 30k and projected to lose another 40k and likely more! ***!!!!
Josh Kelly Patrick Cripps Jake Lloyd Jordan Ridley Rory Laird Dustin Martin - All my starters who are dirt cheap now or heading that way! Could only happen to me!
Need to bust through this sh*tty bad luck and make some smarter choices!!
Time and time again over the past few seasons I have been unwilling to fork out the money for Gawn as a starting selection and he continually outperforms or matches his price in the early period. I then bring him in when funds permit or I am facing 1 or several donuts, only for him to dish up tripe like this and continually disappoint. Was not interested in Gawn in the slightest earlier this round as I was set on selecting both of May and Zorko and continuing to rely on Flynn until grabbing Marshall, etc.
Just when I was starting to have a good round after struggling in the past 3 rounds for an average of 2039 (thanks to Kelly, Daniel and co returning to form) I will again struggle to get to 2050. Now with the injury to Chapman I will be unable to afford the Rowe to May trade and unfortunately will have to cull Warner early if I proceed to go down that route.
Disheartening when I continually make what I feel are sound decisions given the current situations instead of backing my gut. May as well start bitching and moaning about the scoring system every 5 minutes and how they are out to rob all of my players when I cannot be bothered to understand the basics and the information we are privy to. Add to that I may as well start knocking back 120-125 captain scores for fun to get a score between 140-145 so I can receive those extra 40 points as both of these strategies seem to work extremely well.
A relief that I have yet to ever purchase SC Gold or enter any Cash Leagues and intend on keeping it that way. Resigned to the fact that any good run of scoring I go on will be few and far between which is why I thoroughly enjoy assisting others whenever possible regarding trades or captaincy selections. Necessary to maintain a good sense of humour with the absurdity of some of the events/decisions that transpire during the season and I do enjoy exaggerating some of the recurring gags/gaffes at my expense.
Have mentioned on numerous occasions about the joy of participating in some of the other fantasy sports offered, of which most I am a newcomer to and rarely get to see matches due to the timezone differences. Great bunch of contributors/regulars who are always willing to offer assistance if needed and is far more enjoyable with less time allocated to it.
You get salty when things don't go the way they should, it's sweet when they do go as planned and you need to be nuts to play this game. You have everything covered.
The delayed SC scoring can get in the bin. SC gods giving with Thursday teams on one hand but taking back with the dodgy SC live scoring (and heavy post game scaling).
Cost me last round forced to take Gawn C (over Grundy VC) - small margins but cost me some league games.
Cost me again with Poulter scaling +17 post game which led me to opt for Scott over what I thought was a 49 ish score (Scott of course putting in a stinker to rub it in!)

1. Spending upwards of 3hrs at Telstra to get a swap over of phones sorted earlier today.
2. Choosing between Steele and Oliver as my premium trade in this week and deciding to go with the former. Proceeds to watch the latter go Super Saiyan.
3. Being sucked into following SC this weekend despite knowing I need to write reports (I am aware of the irony of writing this post!).
4. Geary being labelled as red cross and getting my hopes up for an early Highmore injection into the game and potential price rise.
5. Seeing unnecessary rants in the in-game discussion thread from coaches ranked significantly higher than me. ESPECIALLY when the player's game isn't even halfway gone.
6. PEOPLE STILL ASKING WHETHER TO TAKE A 120+ VC SCORE. *brain explodes*
Note: This is a placeholder for me to edit when Highmore is inevitably subbed in with 5 minutes to go.
