Hey Port Adelaide fans...guessing Frederick will be one of the most traded in players before next round...but how is his JS like?

Currently have L.Jones and Highmore warming my bench doing nothing so if I'm gonna bring him in it'll be a downgrade from someone like Chapman. Would L.Jones slot straight back into the team in a few weeks? Or will Frederick play enough over the next few weeks to make us some good cash?

Although Frederick wasn't bad at all tonight, it was the sort of performance that could get a rookie dropped after what Port dished up. His place in the side might depend on Burton's injury and how trigger happy Hinkley's feeling.

Got 10-12 disposals in the final quarter when the game was well and truly over.

Boak to return , Bonner playing SANFL I think , expect Hinkley to make a few changes at selection.

Haven't watched the Lions game yet but it feels decent for the next couple of weeks but very shaky long term.

They've got Jones and Butters both a couple of weeks from being in the equation. Bonner already back in the reserves, Mayes hovering and then you've got Boak to come back and Rockliff and a couple of others also floating around.

He was really impressive last week though and definitely gives them a few things that most of the other guys don't.

I’ll be very interested to hear what you make of Houston’s game if you do get a chance to go back and watch it. Was on 27sc part way through the first quarter and then struggled to 54sc by the end of the game. I’ve seen a few comments from people saying he looks injured and couldn’t tackle properly. I’m one of the 3% or so people who have him and I’m wondering if I need to jump off before he drags my season down.

An FYI for those that have been asking about Tyler Brockman recently.

Looks as though his ‘injury’ mustn’t have been as much of an issue as was mentioned, as he’s fronted up in the VFL today.

16 disposals, 7 marks, 2.2, 2 tackles.

I still think he’s a touch down the pecking order with Gunston now back in the side, Burgoyne, Jaeger, Wingard all to slide back in, and Howe there or there abouts on the fringe as pure numbers to either come in or be around the 22. I thought Moore was pretty good again on the weekend on a tough day for our forwards after a quiet one against the Crows, and Hanrahan has also been ok since returning to the side as players in the role that Brockman would be fighting for.

I went back and watched the first half of the game myself:
- no strapping on his shoulder
- looked to be tackling fine
There was no excuse for Houston’s game being so bad that I could see - apart from the fact the his teams was playing poorly and getting flogged - looks like Dan just put in a shocker.

Frederick looked like he had special attributes and only made a couple of mistakes, but also didn't do a heap - albeit did more than most of Port last night.

Put it this way, after watching it I'm very comfortable about bringing him in this week if he's not scapegoated.
He seems like a player Hinkley would like, takes the game on from the backline, problem is they have a fair few players like this. Has looked bloody good the last couple of games and very much AFL level.

Has there been an injury that would shore up a run of games?

I can't afford any more deadwood down back, even if the price is tasty.
Talia is out for a while now. My concern is they threw him forward on the weekend which is not where he's needed and, imo, a worrying sign for where he sits. Few of the other guys in the reserves also playing well. Reckon I'd only go him over Murphy/Frederick if the extra 20k means something this week as reckon the scoring potential is behind those two with no real added JS.

Any intel re Owies from Carlton?
Didn't see the game and suspect alot of his score came from his 3 goals, but he did outscore Cripps
He played really well but definitely playing Murphy's role on the weekend and with Martin, Murphy and Williams all to come back and all going through that position I'd absolutely not be going early on him. He was roaming a fair bit from a natural HF position and showed plenty but yeah, JS is terrible right now.

Anyone have any thoughts on Sam Berry from Adelaide and future JS? He has not set the world on fire but they keep playing him and wonder if they have decided to keep pumping games into him with a view to developing him asap. I am thinking of which rookies to cash in. He is on my bench but considering the rest of the season I am thinking I would rather have someone there getting a regular game and scoring 45-50 then trade to someone who goes 75-75 and then gets dropped and gives no coverage at all.

Likewise they seem to be doing the same thing with Rowe but I have him on field so would rather upgrade him asap.

my thoughts are they need to get games into the kid and the cupboard is bare in the sanfl midfield. I plan on slow burning him until he is clearly dropped for a few weeks. He has a 70 or 80 game in him if it all clicks I just hope it happens before he is dropped
