Has anyone started looking at Bye structure when deciding which Premiums/PODs to bring in?

Round 14 is an absolute bloodbath (STK MEL ADE COLL FRE SYD), so has this affected any decision for any of you guys?

Mindful about trading in any premiums in this round atm.. May is on that list, if he wasn’t R14 it would make it hellova lot easier
Started this week as a tiebreaker between similar options.

Hilariously, it's resulting in an actual preference for week 14 - somehow I've managed to minimise my exposure to that week simply because accident.

My trading plan has me in round 11 leading into the byes with something like:

D: Stewart, Ridley, Mills, Laird, May*, Cumming

M: Macrae, Walsh, Fyfe, Oliver, Zerrett, Titch*, Brayshaw*, Powell

R: Gawn, Grundy

F: Dusty*, Ziebell, Zorko, Impey, Atkins, Warner

11 trades left 😬
Players marked * are subject to change. This is a rough guide.

Hopefully I'll be able to turn Cumming into Whitfield and Powell/Warner into premos in just 4/5 trades so I can ride out the season with 6/7 trades. 10 rounds with 6 trades left could be quite a thrill.
Current trade plans:

Chapman to Stewart
Walker to Bolton

Chapman out is a no brainer with his injury. Stewart is possibly a bit over priced and I know I'm paying a premium on him. Might not be smart to overpay in a line which is meant to be the high scoring line, but has nobody even averaging 110. Probably better to grab May, but that R14 bye is already looking potentially nasty. Also I think skipping May might end up being a POD move, as I expect a lot of others near the top will bring him in. Could be the wrong move, just something is telling me to avoid May, and I have learned when I'm not entirely sure on a keeper to avoid them. I'm sure that I will want Stewart in my final team - there's not many I can say that about, so he's in.

Tex I feel is done. He was always planned to be a stepping stone for me, I never thought he would be a keeper, and although I had originally planned to trade him after the Hawks match based on his draw, Dunkley got injured at the wrong time. I'm still very happy with $165K profit plus some nice scores. If he proves me wrong and stays a top forward from here, so be it, history says otherwise and I much prefer Bolton to score at that level more consistently. I was hoping to keep Bolton quiet, but there has been a bit of chat on him in the last few pages, so figured I may as well add my name to that list. He is probably the forward I am most confident in out of a bad group.

Yes I'm chewing through trades and cash, I will have $60K left after these trades, so likely a double down next round, unless I need to sideways trade another injured premium. Looking like I'll be starting the NTL thread not long after the byes at this rate, but based on my calculations I should still get close enough to full premium with a trade or two to spare if I can catch a break with injuries, which should happen around the byes.
Love the planning guys. Shows why you are both flying. Just not sure I can see the next few weeks as easily.

Like round 3, focus moving back to cash generation priority over all else. Dont think we need to go value yet and tom mitchell scoring is concerning. Prefer quality for now.

can see Frederick Bolton RCD and dusty in for Chapman Tex Rowe and Campbell/Mcneill by round 10. Unfortunately any other rookies free some cash yet not enough to upgrade, will then be two down one up.

By Round 10 will be premiums of 5 Def 6 Mids 2 Ruck and 4 Fwd. if cash generation exist looks ok to chase uber premiums still and maybe have 4-5 trades left.

Not sure May, Bolton or Hall really appeal anymore. I feel they're just convenient tbh.
Bolton has shown this season the odd sub 50 isn't out of his game and they can really hurt, understand he's in a purple patch but they turn sour for me quickly as I trade them in.
May is a good price but better options for me with 1 spot to fill.
Hall, role change looks good but something lingers at the back of my mind with him and do they persist with current structure if they are continually beaten.

Might look at Zorko, my forwards need another good scorer.

Is it just me or is this season full of ****e options.

If we can put together 4 quarters instead of fading out like we did against Melbourne we'll torch Collingwood purely on effort, so Hall might be safe :ROFLMAO:.

At least it feels like we're getting games into the kids, trying some things and slowly getting better whereas the Holden Centre feels like a dark place to be at the moment.

Tossed around a few options this week. Looking for alignment with prems bottoming out and being able to bring in rookies to release cash.

Rnd 8 chapman/rowe > frederick/bolton 251k ITB after trades 18 trades left.

Stewart Ridley Docherty Laird Short Frederick*, Highmore Kosi
Macrae Oliver Merrett Walsh Brayshaw Powell Jordon dev Robertson, Clark, Scott, berry
Gawn Grundy Flynn
Zeibell Bolton* Impey Daniher, warner Farrer, Treacy, Brockman

considered May/Mills but gives me 6 def, more importantly I am looking to bring in 2 of whitfield, lloyd and mills. I would rather get rowe out while I can; happy to have fred/kosi loop for d6.

Fwds is still a basket case and better off waiting to see when Danger returns, or Heeney bottoms out. Bolton and Dusty bring important DPP to the table and provide more flexibility for managing the team and rookies on a week to week basis. This may be worth an addition 10-20 points a week compared to jumping on May now and being fwd limited.

Additional cash gen is very dependent on Highmore and Flynn getting some games. 2 games from each of them and I would cull them.

Scott, Dev, Jordon, Powell Warner I need and want for bye coverage. Will look at trading Clark for cash if he can't get gametime.
Downside of RCB, Dusty and Bolton is it takes my Rnd 13 byes to 12 plus Flynn, Highmore, Treacy and Clark potential DNP. So Flynn has to go at least by Rnd 12. Clark will remain a week to week proposition and will be gone for Rnd13 if not playing or I need a cash grab.

Not keen on getting rid of Brockman as he may get a run soon and generate some cash. May sit on trades until byes other than what's planned unless great opportunity turns up.

Rnd 9
RCD <> Berry? +88K for 339K itb

Rnd 10
Dusty <> Kosi and move Clark back to D6 200ITB

Potential trade candidates for this week are:
Walker BE 132
Gulden BE 86
Clark BE 79
Rowe BE 77
Young BE 72

Thinking Walker & Clark this week, then Gulden & Rowe next week.
I have some faith that Young will be thereabouts with his BE so he could wait until his bye.

Welcome any thoughts.
Good post

I reckon ill do about the same but I'm going to keep Clark since he might JUST miss his BE but hell beat it next week probably my only dilemma is Rowe Vs Gulden?
I reckon Young will be about what you think as well

I agree and NM are likely to win IMO with effort.

Ok...
This is to everyone but @Herbie66 I'm shouting you out since you seem to be the biggest FOR Stringer I've seen so far

So this round my trades are looking Chapman/Gulden - May/Stringer + $10k left in the bank
or
It could be Chapman/Rowe - May/Fred or another rookie

(-Only reason i would look at someone other than May with his great BE is Daniel and the Bye but he needs to prove himself first to me-)

What's the consensus?

After this round, I have 21/22 trades left...

Wouldn’t go near Stringer personally. Has never been a premium and that’s unlikely to change.

May/Frederick looks the much better option to me.

Had a search but couldn't find anything on the forum. I'm hearing Liam Duggan is out this week? Anyone else heard this?

Trades have been set since last Sunday night, am yet to even consider reversing them.

Rowe > Marshall
Gulden > Frederick
117k itb.

Sets me up nicely for next week to go
Kosi > Ridley
Warner > RCD

And leaves me with a fwd line consisting of
Ziebell, Marshall, Sidebum, Dusty, Impey and Daniher for the time being.

No more FWD rookies!

Yes possibly having knee surgery is what I saw on an afl reporters Twitter page. Also posted in the injuries thread.
