ROUND 8 PREVIEW

It's Round 8, and things are getting serious in the SCS Premier League. A few teams are starting to separate themselves from the pack with some strong form, a handful of teams are chasing down that leading pack trying to add themselves to the mix, a large group of teams are just trying get themselves into the top 8, and a couple of teams really struggling at the bottom.... But in the SCS Premier League, Any Team can win on any given day... So you can never feel comfortable at any stage no matter where you are ranked.

Round 8.jpg

Match of the Round

TailsPower v GV Vikings FFC.jpg
The Clash of the Titans… It’s a Heavyweight Battle this week with two of the most in form teams pitted against each other. Coach Adrian has been scorching hot and has won his last four match-up’s by an average of 170 points. His team is on fire. Coach Ashley has also been smashing it, winning four of his five match-up’s with a two point loss his only blemish. He may have to make a move with Luke Ryan, And what he does there could prove crucial. A big effort will be required from both team's this week if they want to walk away with the victory..
Prediction: TailsPower to continue his early domination of the PL and win by 43

Other Matches

Beasts FC v Blaze Of Glory.jpg
Coach Ben hasn’t had a lot go his way this season, losing four of his five matches, falling agonizingly short last week against GV Vikings FFC. He will be looking to go one step further this week and lead his team to a much needed victory. Coach Tom however will be looking to bring some consistentcy to his season. Blaze of Glory have won two of their last 3 matches, and could easily have had another victory in round 1. The result of this match may just rest on the form of Big Tex in the showdown.
Prediction: Beasts FC to get a much needed win in a close one by 21

PC v Ricky Bobby.jpg
Coach Jack started the season with three wins out of four matches, but a loss last week was not what he was banking on. Regardless of that, his team is looking in great shape and will be looking to prove last week was an anomaly. Coach James is also coming off a loss last week, but in his previous three weeks he has won games by an average of 125 points. This is looking like a really good battle this week, one that genuinely could go either way.
Prediction: Ricky Bobby to grab the win in a nail biter by 15

The Darkness v MADMUNZA.jpg
Another team that is on the negative side of the ledger but could just as easily be on the positive side, Coach Adrian lost a nail biter last week by just 14 points. He will be looking to get back on the winners list this week. His two wins this season have been convincing, but needs to bring that effort every week. Coach Matt’s side is coming off a heavy 234 point loss last week, but his team is better than that, he just was unfortunate to come up against the rampaging TailsPower who is destroying everyone at the moment. A lot of POD’s in this match-up, which will make it very entertaining.
Prediction: MADMUNZA looks just a little stronger this week and should get the win by about 78

Courtesans v Goodie's Guns.jpg
Look out people, Coach Keith’s team is on fire!! Having now won his last four matches by an average of 107 points. Team Courtesans has had some horrid luck with injury this season, but the coach would be proud of the “next man up” mantra... which just keeps getting the job done each week. Coach Tim had a bit of a rough start to the season with three losses, but has since regrouped with a couple of great wins, and will be looking to knock off one of the comp’s hottest teams. A handful of great POD match-up’s should see a cracker of a match here.
Prediction: Really tough one to tip but Goodie’s Guns for the win by 19 points

Pay The Mark v Jibrangers.jpg
Coach Mark has had it rough in his first season in the big leagues, But he’s never given up and his troops came out firing last week and got that vital first win on the board. This would have instilled some belief in his squad, and left him knowing his team can get the job done. In what is probably the biggest surprise this season, the two-time champion Jibrangers have struggled this year with only two wins so far. Coach Sho would not be happy with how his team has performed this season. This looks a fantastic match-up despite the current ladder positions with POD’s everywhere you look. What Pay The Mark does with Hurn will be interesting to see.
Prediction: Jibrangers to prove too strong and win by 63 points

Philzsay v Jaca's Attackers.jpg
Team Philzsay started the season on fire winning his first three matches by an average of 113 points. A bad loss however to the Badboys, and a narrow 16 point loss last week has stopped Coach Phil in his tracks. He will be looking to get back on the winners list again this week. But he comes up against the 2019 Champs in this one. Coach Jason is having a nightmare start to the season with four losses in a row now. But you can never write off a champion, and getting the win this week and arresting this slide will be top of his priorities. I have full faith that he will get it together and challenge this season.
Prediction: Jaca’s Attackers to get back on the winner’s list by 50 points

Brownie's Bandits v Rons Badboys.jpg
Coach Iain was pretty happy with his start to the season, perhaps a little too happy with himself and as a result thought a win was a given last week against the bottom side. A crucial lesson was learned. He won’t be taking his opponent lightly this week. Coach David has been a bit hot and cold this season, a narrow win, followed by a narrow loss, then a big loss followed by a big win. Which version of the Badboys will we get this week? A good amount of POD’s could see this one go either way with the ruck battle being important.
Prediction: Rons Badboys to prove too strong and win by 49 points

SuperCoachScores v Diabolical Rabble.jpg
A great match-up to finish the round. Coach Jay has turned his team around and has had two really good victories in the last two rounds. Always a tough team to come up against due the amount of POD’s he deploys each week in an attempt to nab the win. Coach Adrian’s team however is up for the challenge. A couple of losses in the last two weeks is not what he would have wanted, but he’s not panicking. He looks to have full confidence in his troops and will back himself to get back on track. A mammoth 11 POD’s in this match will make for essential viewing.
Prediction: Diabolical Rabble’s strong midfield to prove a little too strong and win by 66 points

Well done on the victory @doc ron... Can't see Bont or Zorko failing so should be an easy win for you.
Nothing is for certain in SC. The temptation is there to wack the C armband on Macrae for possibly some extras but I think with a good overall finish out the window I should just play it safe and stay with the safety of Gawns 112.

Na, you got the job done, rest easy and relax, lol

I should have really taken Grundy... but the scaling wasn't added when I had to make the decision so went with Gawn C, was a little fearful of a hard Curnow tag on Macrae so went Gawn.

The more I think about it I might give Macrae the job. A poor game from him would be 105 so. May also help me out with a few other leagues as it seems to be one of those weeks where most games will be tight.

$31.25 - Impromptu
Once again the champ is criminally underrated by the bookies. These odds are surely too low for a coach of this quality? Coach Jay is a tactical mastermind and plays the game his own way, which often sees wide variations in his results. But don’t sleep on @Impromptu, His out-of-the-box approach is just as likely to bite you in a Head-2-Head match-up. You just know he has something up his sleeve that no one has seen before, and you could do worse than throw a few dollars on at this price. Good things and a return to form are on the cards for 2021.
Form: 19,723 (2020), 36,693 (2019), 47,923 (2018), 21,707 (2017), 14,753 (2016)
This is only a tongue and cheek post but wooooohooo Impromptu moves to 11th and only outside the 8 due to percentage.

Come On Impromptu!!

$31.25 odds looks good now (even though goal is just to make finals; LOLz)

Comeback year haha!

Better value with the odds than me as the favourite sitting in a similar position.

Funnily enough, the PL is still the league I’m doing best in with 3 wins.
