Some very interesting choices this week to make.

Could be the last week for rookies for awhile so Byrnes , Collier-Dawkins , Owies , Poulter , Sweet for example

Or

Ridley
Kelly , Mitchell
Hall , Marshall

big opportunities

Had to go early on Owies because Atu was dropped, hope he has a good one. Sadly still have Phillips and Tex...285k and 2 trades will fix that ;)
Have to take any satisfaction you can out of a bad season

Zero interest on this one. Just playing while Barrass and McGovern are out, no chance of holding either of them out of the side for mine.

Got any more on that groin injury?

Know he had the concussion a couple of weeks ago but hadn't heard anything on the groin (also hadn't looked for it!).

His role is terrific though, I'm genuinely looking like I might have an entire forward line of defenders in SC!
He was listed with an adductor issue before round 1

Hall I think will stay in that role for the year, he’ll win their bnf if this continues. He’s pre much racked it up every game on that role.

It’s a high risk high reward pick. Can he maintain this form and stay fit given he’s 30.5 and never done it in 10 years, it seems unlikely but not out of the realms.

I really don’t want to do it but it’s one of those ones that if it works it’s going to sting for people without. If he makes money and then gets injured and has to be traded then it’s not the worst if you have trade surplus but I don’t have that luxury

Yeah I think now I’ll finish my backline via Kosi if I can this week.
I’m a little nervous now with Hall in my team with everyone saying if he doesn’t get injured he’ll be dropped.......was sub round 1 playing a mid role when he came on, took a ball to the head and sat out due concussion his other questionable game but seems to be playing a role well otherwise and pretty cheap in a world of ****e forwards this season so feckit! I’ll have a crack.

Just forget the name "Aaron Hall" for a moment: a player has had 23, 33, 33 and 37 disposals this season in the full games he's played, has a good bye, an extremely friendly role, is priced ~ $420 k and plays in a problematic area for Supercoach. You think that player is not at least worth considering for team inclusion?

It's mostly all about the role and the situation, and only a little bit about the player. Hence the reason Ziebell and Impey look to be top 6 forwards this season, and why, for example, Darcy Moore looks like Supercoach elite when he has a role change, like he did yesterday.

I will note that the winning DFS lineup on Draftstars yesterday (for over $7k) had the North/Pies game stack and I think that will continue (ie, whoever North are playing plus Hall/Ziebell) while the prices of those North players are as low as they are relative to their output. Yesterday's winner had Hall, players like Maynard, Moore, DeGoey etc to claim the top prize.

It seems inconceivable to me that they'd drop Hall, he's one of their few winners. Yes, he could have a role change but we'll deal with that if and when it presents itself. The injury thing does bear more scrutiny but at the moment he looks like a gift horse some are going to look at in the mouth of because of his name.
I put Hall more in the Stringer category. His role and form are irrelevant, it will almost certainly go wrong at some point. You can't take the name out of it unless you're unfamiliar with Hall's history. Plenty have been mystified as to why Hall was regularly dropped over the years, but there's no mystery to it. He's a gigantic front runner who's never changed the way he plays and never put the team first.
Hall had over 900m gained and apparently he'll be dropped.
Noble's no mug, it shouldn't take him long to get there.

Fair enough, Colin Sylvia cost me an FJ cruiser in RDT many years ago so I'm used to riding these types.

I agree to an extent but he's playing genuinely well and the role certainly hides his issues.

It's actually similar to the year Stef Martin went into the ruck, suddenly a role that suited everything he does well and hid the other stuff.

That said, Hall is the ultimate send a message type of guy, pretty easy to find a few contests in every game he plays that he squibs it and as such if you want to make a point on effort being the most important he's a guy with a lot of cheap stats and an easy "this is why he was dropped" film.

So far though the Kangas efforts have actually been alright and it's their lack of guys who can kick and run and carry that really stands out, something Hall actually adds.

Don't agree with ignoring the role though just because of who he is, Stringer was not a guy I ever considered at any point because his role is the same, a good game or two in the same role he's always played doesn't change what he is as a player.

Hall more akin to Ziebell, Atkins, Hind and Impey type of moving from not as good roles to better roles. Of course better roles don't always stick around and that's a very real risk.
