The mids at the moment currently look like you get what you pay for. I'm not convinced Mitchell returns to being a top mid although he's probably cheap enough to fill a spot. I still need 3 more. Does anyone think there is a sneaky pick?

Jarryd Lyons looks like a sneaky pick if you haven’t considered already (non-owner)

Also think Duncan is underrrated (owner)

Edit: both 600k+

I was thinking Lyons was a solid pick. Trying to avoid those that get injured so as much as I like Duncans scoring I'll give him a miss.

I had to have a look because I thought Duncan was pretty durable! Has missed 6 games in close to 6 years. Looks like he’s only had one LTI (based on number of missed games). I probably wouldn’t avoid him for durability reasons.

On the other hand, the backfire risk on this post seems pretty high 🙂

Respectfully disagree.

I paid 598K for Trac 2 weeks ago and was rewarded with a 78 against North and an 87 against the Swans

Gaff to me is the sneaky pick no one considers. Will get better with Shuey and Yeo back but has found his groove now, never misses games and still cheap.

Otherwise it definitely feels like the premium group has kind of formed at this point.
So Guthrie, Lyons, Mundy & Duncan are Top 8 mids then and no-one is pushing them out?

If I wasn’t missing Steele I’d be strongly considering him. Steele just seems too good to pass up.

Absolutely and find myself in the same position, I've got Kelly, McCluggage and Taranto that are all penciled in as low end keepers so I'm trying my best to target the Petracca, Steele, Oliver, Guthrie?/Duncan?, Lyons?, Bont and Neale types for those final two spots, with a downgrade to Neale on the cards if he's back.

I reckon if you're looking at 3 or more genuine upgrades then a value play like Gaff or Titch really does have to come into the equation.

My forwardline is so much more of an issue though right now so that needs my more immediate attention.

I disagree @wogitalia as i cannot find any fwds worth considering so almost no time spent assessing options. Where def and mid have a number of value plays and prem choices to assess. each one with potential season ending consequences.

I only need to upgrade Cumming in defense, so not looking there. It's Lloyd or Mills at this point for me.

I need two genuine upgrades in the mids but Jordon is scoring great and I can flip Laird so have a choice of Parks, Scott, Berry, Kosi and Murphy for that M8 spot. Forwards I have Scott after fielding Farrar, Bergman and Warner. So need to address the F6 at the very least.

Disagree on forward options as well.

Dale, Hall, Martin, Hawkins, Impey, Greene, Zorko, Sidebottom, Hind, Atkins, Marshall, Cameron and Bailey are all somewhere in the value equation compared to what they're capable of. Definitely more speculative but they're all coming in at somewhere in the 100k less than Oliver types right now (Marshall aside).

Don't get me wrong, I wish I could push Jordon and Laird into the forwards and pick up a couple of premium mids first but for my side especially those forward spots are a glaring hole and I'd like to fill two of them so I can pick Danger/Marshall most likely for the final spot if I can!

But totally about upgrading those weakest spots as best you can. Hawkins at 475k is capable of averaging 110 from here for example. I'd say Martin at 440k is capable of 105, meanwhile I'm liking a guy like Gaff at 530k for 110 as well.
