Pretty certain Bucks played 'pin the magnet on the postion board' last rd...
I have actually never seen a more incompetent coach in the league. Those "dynamic forwards" destroy us every year (Greene, Tippa, Dusty) and yet he just refuses to learn by putting Jack Madgen of all people on Tippa lol

I think he starts to get a bit of the old man syndrome... rested for games, niggles that don't go away etc.
Think he's 100 baseline from here with 110 as best case.

If we're talking POD mids, surely we have to talk about Jarryd Lyons, in only 1.8% of teams and averaging 116?
Seems like he is over achieving, but I've done a quick look back and since his bye in 2019 he has:
  • Played 34 games at 114.4
  • Not missed a single match through injury
  • Gone below 100 only 7 times! (For comparison, Macrae has only 5 below 100 in the same timespan while Oliver and Jake Lloyd both have 8)
  • 28yrs old, strong and fit and no question about role.
Is he nearing the end of a 40 game purple patch or is he just going to truck along and pump out a 22/114 type year while nobody has him in their side?

I had him all of last year and he was a great POD, pity that the rest of my team was ****e.

Another POD worth looking at is Ellis, discounting his round 1 score of 63 then he has a 6 round ave. of 109 with a low of 90 and 0.5% ownership.

I have 2 places to fill, M7 & M8, already have Macca, Steele, Merrett, Oliver, Kelly and Mitchell. I would like both of them for those 2 possies but I don't know if I'll have the cash gen. or trades to get them in and will more than likely have to target the cheaper options.

Not sure if I can justify the price tag personally. For what it's worth, I do think he averages close to 114 from R8 onwards. At rank 183, I know a POD like Lyons could be huge but also Titch is 100k cheaper, and Guthrie who I put in a similar boat is 20k cheaper.

EDIT: Also worth noting that Titch and Guthrie's bye works better for me. I'm set for R12 with: Macrae, Oliver, Walsh, Fyfe, Merrett all playing. In Lyon's bye (R13), I'm already set to miss Macrae, Walsh and Merrett with just Fyfe and Oliver as on field MID premos at this stage.

For the same price basically Brayshaw, Titchell and Kelly's CBA says a lot. Pure midfield time... Brayshaw and Titch clearly have their positions set. Jelly's 4 CBA attendences scare me. Will he play pure wing? or is he FP/FF role as well?

For those wondering about Cripps & Mitchell's scoring this season :-

What about Patrick Cripps?

While I think you should still be using your trades elsewhere at this stage, things aren’t getting better for Cripps owners in KFC SuperCoach.
Despite recording 25 and 24 disposals in each of the past two matches, respectively, the Carlton co-captain has finished with scores of 64 and 65.

And it’s all to do with his errors. Of all players to have played at least four matches, Cripps still ranks 10th in the competition for contested possessions. But his 41 clangers is the second-most in the league – only Lion Dayne Zorko (45) has recorded more.
Cripps has given away 15 free kicks in 2021 – ranked seventh – but it’s his kicking which is the biggest concern.

His kick rating of -8.9% ranks 247th of the 253 players to have recorded 50 or more kicks this season.
Yeah, that’s bad.

Speaking of impact by foot, Tom Mitchell?

Not Tim Michell. Tom Mitchell, the Brownlow Medallist, who averaged 113 points per game last year after missing the entire 2019 season with a broken leg.

With four KFC SuperCoach tons this year, including a 135-point effort in Round 1, Mitchell is averaging three figures – but only just. Scores of 76 and 90 in the two rounds before his 105 against the Saints, has resulted in a significant fall with Mitchell available at more than a $100k discount on his starting price.

One of history’s best KFC SuperCoach scorers, who is still averaging 102, at $508k is also a bargain, right?
Sure, but the form of his team, along with those two scores are concerning.

Mitchell had 32 disposals against the Demons in Round 5, but failed to reach the 80-point mark.

Unsurprisingly, he’s having no trouble finding the footy but his contested possession numbers are the lowest they have been since 2015 and Mitchell is not driving the ball forward on the outside.

His average of 9.6 metres gained per disposal is the third-lowest rate of the top-50 ball winners across the competition this year.

But does he still pass three figures more often than not from here? Probably. And that makes him worth a big look.

Like Kelly, though, a breakeven of 108 means you can watch closely again in Round 8.
