So my well thought out trade plan to the byes lasted less than one day after rnd 8. As they say "no plan survives contact with the enemy". In this case the enemy was some arsehole patron of a nightclub being a ****! And Bolton not being the bigger man. It is difficult being a young tyro (in case we have all forgotten)

I am sceptical Bolton will only be 2-3 weeks with a wrist injury? Will look at option keeping Bolton and option trading Bolton.
Plan 1 was Kosi>Titch via Clark and Brockman>Poulter. This is still possible. Bolton now on bench and dev/scott/farrar loop for f5/6 probably my preferred choice,

not yet convinced on RCD js, and it would not be a SC season without missing at least a couple of good rooks. so far missed, butts, cox, bergman. desperate for flynn to play and clark be given a decent run by scott.

Might trade Bolts to Jelly next week.

If clark doesn't play this week may keep kosi down back and trade bolts this week. leave 250k for upgrade next week. Q is do i need rcd or byrne as well as poulter?

Like fmd, I seriously cannot take a trick.. lost so many players to injuries this year already and now Bolton after trading him in this week.. in a nightclub incident of all things...what a ****wit...

Jumped in after Rioli got hit (assuming that’s what happened), bit harsh?

I know it's only a tweet but I can't see a broken wrist only been a 2-3 weeker.

This pretty much chucks any and all concerns about RCD's job security for the next month straight into the bin.

Anyone with a line on Richmond rookies for any tidbits on who might be considered for selection in the coming weeks, given that the cupboard is looking *very* bare in the midfield now?
Ralphsmith a chance.

Was speaking to a Tigers supporting work mate who thinks Ralphsmith and even Rioli as an outside chance to come in sooner rather than later.
They were big on Thomson Dow last year, took him much earlier than expected in the draft in 2019 compared to where most watchers and other teams had him going, and before the Covid layoff had him even pressing for a Round 1/early season debut. Eventually got a couple of games in the middle of the year. Has been injured for a while and only played the one VFL game from memory so far this year. The timing might not quite be there for him to get a crack as I suspect he'll need another few in the VFL to build fitness before being a realistic chance of a seniors game, which might see the likes of Cotchin, Prestia, Lambert, etc. ready to return anyway.

Maurice Rioli could well be a sniff up forward, but don't like his scoring potential SC wise. Naish has been banging the door down with VFL form, Ralphsmith has been one they have been big on throughout the preseason, getting multiple pump ups in the media by coaches, and of course there's also Will Martyn who debuted earlier this year in that hot game against PTA.

Hall, Greene, Hawkins, Duncan, Guthrie - players that suit, or rather help, my bye situation. Basically any half decent player who has a Rd.13 Bye. Greene's next few opponents are tasty... (edit: scratch that, was thinking about T. MacDonald's next few opponents actually...)

Only a couple out of that lot I'd bring in with any confidence. Suppose I'll have to bring them in with lesser confidence.

So Jaidyn Stephenson fractured wrist up to 6 weeks out, and Bolton back in 2-3? Smells funny.
I got burnt for holding Dangerfield and Cripps as well, so am thinking he has to go.

Thoughts?
Have Ziebell/Zorko/Sidey/Bolton/Warner and looping Rowe/Scott. Was planning to bring in Lyons to shore up the mids.

Ok size maybe a bit short for KPD at 194cm , moves well and he bulked up a bit over the pre-season which was one of the areas he was lacking in. Decent kick, but there's the obvious question around his game sense given he's a Cat B recruit from a basketball background (although we was an elite junior at U16 level).

Wilson seems to have been progressing well at VFL level and recently had 30 touches and a goal off half back in a game in what has been a pretty solid and consistent season so far.

HAving said all that I can't see Buckley not leaning towards Magden coming in this week in this "break glass in case of emergency" KPD situation (basically anyone we bring in is undersized, so you might as well bring in the bloke who has some AFL experience under his belt).
Appreciate the detailed response.

I thought he was limping and looked pretty sore at the end of the game but yeah he hasn’t been tagged as injured anywhere.
I'd love to have him in but I have a few already missing the round 14 bye and he is now on the list with premiums on the same I'd like to own in Steele, Mills and maybe Petracca.
