It doesn’t get a lot closer than this @Lost In The Sky

I am most likely going to take Poulter’s 66 over Rowe. Gold has my nose in front, but I think I would prefer to be in your position given what Cripps has been dishing up this year.

Good luck!
Na, you have this.

Ridley and May can go either really huge or pretty low... and the way my luck has been this year they will both go low.

I honestly don't expect to win another league game all year.

Told you you'd get the win @Diabolical... Well done mate.

I gotta contact SC and find out why all my EMG's where reset... I certainly didn't do it. Cost me 13 points and a chance at a win as I couldn't get Kosi's 70.
Bad luck @Lost In The Sky a kick in it could have gone either way!

That is an unfortunate way to lose. The same thing happened to me last year and all I can think that I must have done was accidentally reset the emergencies. It is one of those things that happen once ... I find myself double checking all the time so I don’t do it again a bit too often now - it has caused borderline OCD!

Yeah if it was me that caused it, It must have been because Kosi was in the top EMG spot on the page (On Desktop)... and when you hover over the C/VC/E button's... The E is extremely close to the Reset E button. I must have accidentally nudged a tiny bit higher and clicked the Reset E button.

They really need to move that completely out of the way so there can't be a mistake.

Either way, you fully deserved the win and I had no business being that close with Mitchell under performing for you.

ROUND 8 REVIEW
(the red and blue is a homage to the currently undefeated Demons!)

1621244215920.png

Match of the Round

The Darkness v GV Vikings FC TICK
Prediction: The Darkness to cause the Vikings all sorts of headaches and get up in a smashing 142 win
Result: The Darkness wins by 144 and my prediction was oh so almost! Well, it may not have had a close outcome but this match had big implications for the PL ladder. Coach Adrian has created a top 8 logjam by getting the win. Coach Ash will indeed be nursing the mother of all headaches from the match, very similar probably to a headache that comes after an SCS catch up (had a few of those in my time...they hurt!). GV Vikings would be disappointed in the loss with the three on field rookies letting him down as well as missing a big score to balance Docs 120. The Darkness posted the second highest score in the league for the round and would be happy with his week.

Other Matches

Beasts FC v TailsPower CROSS
Prediction: Really unsure about this one but picking Beasts FC to finally break the losing streak and win by 8

Result: A 27 point win to Coach Adrian and I poor tip by me. Neither coach would be happy with their final score and both probably lost overall ranking this week. Although there were a lot of pods between the two teams, the Mansell turdy-three (getit) was a big part of the reason BB lost. Of course playing Highmore would have meant a three point loss and probably some quiet tears. Tails would know that he got lucky in this game, who cares though, a win is a win is a win and he is still king of the ladder!

PC v Blaze of Glory TICK
Prediction: BoG to be bog and get over the line by a (disappointing) 23
Result: Well, Blaze by (a still disappointing) 85 and the Team PC slide down the PL ladder has started. A Bowes owie versus a Zorko magic trick and it was game over. Mansell was rubbish and Coach Jack is still kicking himself (trust me I asked him) at fielding him over Highmore, wouldn't have helped of course. Coach Tom would be pleased as the cat that got the cream, taking the win and effectively joining the top 8 of the PL ladder - equal on points with the Jibrangers and on the same percentage!

Courtesans v Ricky Bobby TICK
Prediction: Courtesans to continue his winning ways by 37
Result: TailsPower might be king of the castle but Courtesans is eyeing off the throne and plotting a takeover of the PL kingdom. A solid 81 point win sees him sitting comfortably in second place on percentage. Coach James didn't do much wrong really, the Ziegull VC was perhaps a little keen, but it was a combo of a poor Zerrett/CJ and some low rookie scores that meant he missed the chips this week. I imagine Coach Keith sitting in a big chair in front of a warm fire, with a glass of fine red, patting Coco and plotting the next round.

Pay the Mark v MADMUNZA TICK
Prediction: MADMUNZA to do what he does and win in an emphatic way by 109

Result: Poor old Mark, another agonising week and another loss. Team MADMUNZA getting over the line by a mere 17 and Coach Matt would be thanking his lucky stars that his pods were able to pull together a couple more 100s than Coach Mark's team. MADMUNZA also keeps touch with the top 8. Pay the Mark was even across the board this week and his team has the names that can post big scores, fingers crossed that happens for him soon.

Philzsay v Goodie's Guns CROSS
Prediction: GG to climb the ladder a little and win by 18
Result: Well, this was my worse tip for the week, guess I was blinded by the common love for Hawthorn, but Coach Phil showed how misplaced that was with a 132 point smashing. With only two prem pods between them (yes, two!) before the start of the round, Philzsay added a Bont and Goodie a Mitchell (appears brown and gold coloured glasses are not only an issue for me). That choice and a sprinkling of rookie scores was enough for one team to triumph.

Rons Badboys v Jibrangers TICK
Prediction: The Jibrangers to start their climb up the ranking ladder with a 43 point win
Result: Wow, have The Jibrangers just made a massive 195 point win statement?! Definitely a 'look at me' way of starting to climb the ladder. Coach David would be shaking his head but in the knowledge that weeks like this happen, sometimes things work out for the other guy better than they work out for you. Coach Sho jumps into the top 8 this week, Doc Ron is only a game outside and not far off it. The Jibrangers take the cake and are definitely eating it too in round 9.

SuperCoachScores v Jaca's Attackers CROSS
Prediction: Jay to cause Jaca some more frustration and win by 26
Result: Coach Jason got the win he needed to stay in touch with the PL top 8, Coach Jay would be frustrated by the loss. A really closely fought match with only 19 points separating the two teams by the end. Both coaches would be happy with their week and would have climbed the rankings ladder. Hard to say which pod did it, there are too many to consider!

Diabolical Rabble v Brownie's Bandits TICK
Prediction: Diabolical Rabble’s strong midfield to prove a little too strong and win by 66 points
Result: Can't get much closer than 3 points and Coach Andrew would know his win could have been taking away by some CD scaling slight of hand. Coach Iain would be so very frustrated, a win could have got him into the top 8 whereas the loss leaves him sitting just outside. Both teams would be trying to forget the week (for different reasons) and moving onto a bigger and better next round.

A reasonable 6/9 Predictions for me, seems ok.

Well done to all running the reviews and previews over the last few rounds.

Here's a bit of a state of play update for this round (with some added analysis courtesy of @nicohighscore 's platform). Refer to below live tracker from the SupercoachData platform for more accurate projected scores.

A very tight tussle looms for the belatedly dubbed match of the round between Courtesans and Blaze of Glory (with only 15pts of difference in the SCData projections). Philszay v Ricky Bobby and Impromptu v Goodies Guns also seem to be very tight tussles.

I'll be hoping the projections are accurate in my crucial battle against Diabolical, as the competition gets tough for a top 8 spot.

Good luck everyone!
