Thanks Wogitalia. Do you know if he got injured at the Saints or just wasn't favoured? I don't have bench cover in the forward line so trying to avoid injury prone players which is why Heeney would be a last resort.
He had a wrist operation at the end of 2019 but think he just couldn't get into the side. With Billings, Gresham, Butler, Lonie and a couple of other guys it's not the easiest small forward group to break in.
Does wear a lot of tape so imagine he's had shoulder issues in the past and as someone watching him closely he's got a bit of the Danger attention seeker hobble in every game.
I can't say a lot on him, I drafted him in all my draft leagues and ended up trading him in back in round 5 when Butters went down after regretting not picking him as a starter for 4 weeks.
Durability is probably the biggest concern and I'm not sure if it's valid or not. He'll have a few more 70s type games I imagine because the Dons do have several rebounders and it's just the nature of the role but he wins a lot of contested ball, runs and carries it brilliantly, generally uses it very well and has even been taking a couple of intercept marks a week.
I'd say he should end up in the 85-95 range, I'm not sure that's a great buy at current price, but if he can keep going like he did on the weekend then that range could move up 5-10 points, he was brilliant on the weekend. Bombers are playing a HB friendly style.
Basically reckon he's pretty much fairly priced right now so in other positions I'd say a "bad" buy but in the forwards this year, fairly valued is actually pretty good given the trainwreck it is. I reckon I'd probably stump up the 30k for Hawkins or take the Martin discount over him. Also think a fairly priced Zorko is a better buy as he's got a strong history of big back half finishes but Hind is a decent buy still.
I'm never a huge fan of paying fair price on unproven breakout players, there's the risk of sustainability that we don't know the answer to, especially guys who haven't played full seasons previously. When you get a discount that's mitigated but at fair price you take all the risk. Having said that, Hind is so dynamic I expect the Bombers will actually make an effort to use him more and more this season, he's probably their best kick I50 outside Zerrett and he's easily their best ball carrier.
