Leon Cameron on Perth radio tonight stated that the plan had been to play Mummy two weeks on and then give him one week off subject to the body holding up. GWS were happy last week with the Flynn/Briggs combo but whether Mummy plays this week yet to be decided. They have a training run tomorrow.

That’s interesting. So the stats don’t bear out the perception. At least a couple you mention above are actually better users of the ball (Whitfield and Dusty at least), but maybe they turn it over more because they are more ambitious with what they try to do with it and often attempt much more difficult kicks. Maybe Adams has tidied up his disposal a bit. I’ll have to have another watch when he comes back.
Adams is actually very brave and creative with his kicking, and it's often the risk taking aspect of his disposals that result in the clanger rather than the technique itself.

That being said, historically Adams absolutely fits your description for him. It's just last season when he made tremendous improvements out of the blue.

Had been showing good signs this year already. Kind of guy that could certainly be hurt by injury and the layoff with it as it's not a pure kicking technique and can tell he's worked pretty hard on it so a bit of rust and timing can hurt those types more.

This is an interesting point about Adams’ kicking, and the link to his fitness.

I don’t think it posted earlier today, but I wrote a post outlining some stats on Adams.

The crux of it was that since he broke out, when he plays every game of the season, he’s a 108-110 average player, and when he doesn’t, he’s a 96-98 average player.

Lots of moving parts, and he wouldn’t be alone in averaging more when he’s fit, but he’s one of the more striking examples I’ve seen.
