Yeah, caught that, thanks. I was just hoping that it wouldn't actually completely sign me out of my paid Herald Sun account. That means that if I want to use an alternate team (as mentioned earlier), I can't access my Herald Sun account.

Ah well, ride with the bumps ... thanks for the feedback.
If you have Firefox you might be able to run the private window mode (CTRL+SHIFT+P) which saves no usernames and passwords allowing you to quickly access your second account without interrupting your first. I'm sure IE has it as well but I just don't bother with it anymore.

Love the poll you started for Lobbe Jay where you selected what you believe his average for 2014 will be. I for one will certainly be keeping an eye on what the SCS members reckon he will go in 2014 as a bit of a guide.

If Team A averages 1600SCpts and Team B 1700SCpts what would you expect them to score when they played each other? I reckon 99/100 people would instantly think the obvious but wrong answer.

Maybe trick question that I'm not seeing but I would think something like 1575SCpts Team A and Team B 1725SCpts

Because the two teams average 3300pts between them many people would presume the answer would simply be Team A 1600 v Team B 1700, which I also intuitively thought.

The best way to explain why that is wrong is by considering if Team B played Team C that averaged 1650SCpts. Team C would be by definition exactly average, so every side that played them would be expected to score their average as they are neither easier or harder to play against than average. So Team B would be expected to score 1700pts v Team C. Hence Team B would have to be expected to score more against a lesser team such as Team A.

The correct answer is Team A 1550 v Team B 1750. This is because Team A is 50pts easier than average to play against and Team B is 50pts harder than average to play against.

Using the right formula Team B would be expected to score:
1600 v a 1750pt team
1650 v a 1700pt team
1700 v a 1650pt team
1750 v a 1600pt team
1800 v a 1550pt team
Average = 1700, as it should be when playing 5 opponents averaging 1650pts on average.

Using the wrong basic ratio formula Team B would be expected to score:
1626.1 v a 1750pt team
1650 v a 1700pt team
1674.6 v a 1650pt team
1700 v a 1600pt team
1726.2 v a 1550pt team
Average = approximately 1675, which it clearly shouldn't be when playing 5 opponents averaging 1650pts on average.

Oh you're talking about AFL teams. I thought you were referring to SC teams haha.

I have always received the Champion Data email for dream team points in the preseason, does anyone know of the same thing for supercoach? I'm really wanting to see which rookies are supercoach relevant or do most people think it doesn't matter as much for rookies? Maybe game time is more important?

Champion Data generally release Supercoach points of the pre-season competition after its completion. The main stat I look at personally is SC points per minute. Hope that helps in some way.

Step 5 - Second guess your self ever 2 mins or so, change your team a million times and lock it in 30 seconds before lockout.
Those last few minutes are the worst.

Out: Pendles, Ablett
In: Priddis, Fyfe

Those were my genius last minute trades last year. Never recovered.

Damn, should've asked Rowsus to see if he knew the answer :D

When I get home will take a closer look but first browse not convinced. If both teams score equal amounts either side of average score across the league I would have thought that remains constant against each other... equally above and below average....1575 to 1725 is 75 pts either side of average of 1650....

Maybe I think too differently to others...lol

To top it off, I'm pretty sure it was to make enough cash to get Harper or Karnezis in...lol
Damn IDIG, that was some 'top' last minute trades there - I recommend you get a SC buddy over on the night to make sure you don't do it this season  ;)
