I'm kind of hoping Scott misses this week so that he doesn't burn more cash.

I've got about 4 players I want to trade out, all of which are poised to start losing cash due to throwing in a shocker or 2. Scott, Powell, Jiath, Jordon.

I had been hoping to keep Jiath and Jordon to their byes, and still might, but the possibility of getting Whitfield (which likely finishes my defence) has led me down the "trade Jiath" path. I'll be watching teams closely as if someone like Powell is "rested" it could potentially buy them a week, or a month, in my team.
Oh that list, Jordon had a pretty off game... but missed some shockers by foot. But 10 tackles and some more game time. He could still get to his BE of 80.

I too hope Scott gets dropped. But he's a must out for me. No chance in him getting his BE.

Wouldn't Scott be concussion protocol either way? Head knock. Holds value if he misses.

EDIT:
Potentially not in the protocol if Bevo is to be believed.

Honestly, I dont see the love for Cerra. If he is a keeper in your midfield is a big call.
Potential 105 average for $400K isn't a bad investment. Its a big IF though.
Many jumped at Brayshaw at a touch under $500K and thought that was a bargain. I'm not a Freo expert but I see them scoring about the same for the remainder of the year.

Quick question, how many trades would be safe or good going into this round?

Im going in with 17 and thinking of using two, which leaves 15 after round 11?
Am i burning too many trades too early orrr?

It’s all a bit relative to the state of your team.
Plenty of more sophisticated ways to look at it, but as a base starting point, one option:

Count the number of slots in your on-field 22 that aren’t premos ( n )

Assume you’ll need two trades per upgrade (2n)

(Current trades left - 2n) leaves you with how many trades?

First thought was no trades this week.

Then got worried Scott will start to leak cash so contemplated doing only Scott --> Madden.

Now I'm thinking Jordon --> Steele as well.

Essentially:
Out: Scott (round 13 BYE) & Jordon (round 14 BYE)
In: Madden (round 13 BYE) & Steele (round 14 BYE)

Would leave me with 14 trades & 4 upgrades to go. And it doesn't really screw up my BYE structure. Then again, round 14 was going to be a killer for me anyways.
Have the rest of the week to decide!

Is Mills worth paying the coin for?
I'd say yes but I'm biased as I traded him in very early on for 544k and has since averaged 110 for me. Basically paying for a mid in ur defence spot. Another Laird basically without the dpp.

Also worth noting he seems to score big when he's away.
2021 Home averages 93 from 5 games.
2021 Away averages 133.2 from 5 games.

So you may not want to get him this week at the SCG.

Thanks @randomcliche and @Tamuhawk.

Yeah, I noticed the SCG record, bit weird really. Also seems little rhyme or reason on the types of teams he enjoys playing against.

Perhaps I can justify his cost if I pair him with Heeney - only 463k each upgrade that way!:geek:
