Couldn't they just move the Hawks/Suns game to the Gold Coast? It would make the most sense to me, even if they don't have a crowd. If the Tigers/Crows can be shifted on short notice (possibly), I don't see why this one couldn't.
Yeah, maybe I’m thinking about the extra trades thing... ie the bad luck of having Melb and Ess players, especially premos. Sorry @Ben's Beasts@Beg2Differ memory is going.
Means everyone who hasn't got Mitchell or miller can just play their best squad this week... And then trade one of them in and have a player that plays through all the byes... While those that have them will miss out on a week of points.
Pretty big disadvantage if they choose to play 22 and not 18
Expect whilst they say later in the season, wouldn't they push for next week.
Strong chance Melb goes lockdown and the season pushed back one week. Having said that, most elections have been done and labour leaders allowing games to happen.

If it is best 18 there doesn't seem much point trading this week as it will just be battle of the rookies for the 18th score. Especially with Titch and Touk available next week. Apologies to those who might have both. Touk just became more popular.
Could,it be the AFL are working on it and going with it’s postponed is the best click bait? From the article I have read they are in discussions. Perhaps QLD will be the saviour again
Hawthorn’s clash against Gold Coast in Darwin on Saturday night has been scrapped due to Melbourne’s latest COVID-19 outbreak.
Sources confirmed the league was considering other alternatives for the clash including moving it to another venue or postponing the game for at least one week.
The Hawks were told the game still could go ahead at Gold Coast’s home ground Metricon Stadium, but discussions were ongoing.
Another option was to postpone the game until next weekend when the Hawks and Suns were scheduled to have a bye as part of Round 12.
The Hawks were due to fly out to Darwin on Thursday but complications arising from the latest outbreak prompted the AFL to begin making other plans for the game.
Totally agree about the health part. I know it's only irritating in a SC perspective. Just don't know why a game that isn't in Melbourne. Could NT have banned them coming?

Are you referring to your post or the article in the Herald Sun?
The article states that it won't be played in the NT this weekend.
The AFL are considering:
1. Shifting the game to the Gold Coast, to be played this weekend.
2. Postponing the game, until next weekend (round 12). Thus, shifting the teams' byes from round 12 to round 11.
3. Investigating alternative fixturing.
