Here we go again; VIC in Lockdown from midnight. Guessing that translates into spectator free games in Melb. assuming the matches go ahead....

The AFL literally answered your questions in a press release an hour ago...
They did did they....so they are pushing on it seems ? Just cancel the damn round and play it next weekend: bye done for the year for all (providing no more lockdowns from here on out of course)

Wont happen of course- not when clowns run the circus

The "Bounces" statistic - what does it actually refer to?

For example, in the Bulldogs v Demons game last night, the AFL app has the Bounces stat as 4 for Demons. And in the Lions v Tigers match in R10, Lions had 2 Bounces.

Surely it's not saying that Melbourne and Lions players only bounced the footy 4 and 2 times respectively in the entire match?

Have a rules question on a tactic

At a centre bounce after a goal

A wing leaves the field through the interchange and is NOT replaced

Runs down to a back pocket (7man defence strategy) but does not enter field of play till the ball is bounced.
Could in theory be done with a fwd pocket as well.
2 extra blokes in defence

Is it against the rules?

Don't you have to enter the field of play through the interchange gates? That would seem to scupper that plan, cause you'd still have to get back from the wing.

This, would be an illegal substitution which is a 50m penalty from the centre and shot at goal basically so significantly worse than even numbers.

As far as I know though you could start at the very back corner of the square and drift straight in at the bounce anyway.

Oh in that case, you'd fail the 6-6-6 as you wouldn't have 6 players in the middle section.
True but less than 6?

If you had 5 injuries who couldn't continue you'd automatically give a free-kick at every centre bounce if that was the case
