I suspect Italy will be another one of the tracks used for this, if just to stop the madness in Q3 around attempted slipstreaming.

Great question around what fantasy will do. In the Supercars, they've sometimes had practice sessions that decided which cars would have to go through the first stage of knockout qualifying and which ones went straight to stage two. The fantasy lockout was after these practice sessions, so you already knew which drivers/teams couldn't qualify lower than say 15th before lockout.

Based on the current qualifying rules for the game, the sprint race results that determine the grid may be everything. But if so, do we get to see the results of Q1-Q3 sprint race qualifying and FP2 before lockout? I suspect it has to be based on the sprint race as otherwise the passing points wont work (drivers/teams will likely be in a different position on the grid than the Q1-Q3 results).
The autosport article mentions 2 Euro races and one flyaway.
As you suspected, they are also suggesting the Italian GP as the other Euro, with the Brazilian GP the flyaway.

My understanding of this based on other competitions I've seen is that the sprint race will be qualifying for the purposes of the game. Finish of sprint race gets grid points, finish of regular race gets race points.

I suppose the only real point of interest is whether they change lockout for it. Could really set the cat amongst the pigeons if they do - only one hour of practice to make decisions on!

Wouldn't surprise me if they did that. Bathurst has practice sessions, then qualifying and then further practice sessions. Lockout for that round of supercars fantasy happens just before the first qualifying session starts.

The one hour of practice only probably won't be the biggest issue. Coaches not realising lockout is on Friday evening and missing their planned trades will probably make more noise.

Ferrari and Red Bull setting the pace in practice 1. Will have to wait for FP2 to see Mercedes true pace.

Gasly 6th fastest so far (BE of 19 for people considering spending a little more on their 4th driver)

...and Mazepin hit the wall. Big shock that one.

McLaren looking reasonably good in FP1 with Ricciardo 5th and Norris 8th.

Interesting to see if Mercedes can go a bit faster in FP3, otherwise, they are in damage limitation mode this weekend.

Likely just the one trade for me. Russell out, with one of Kimi or Gasly to come in.

Bit of a restructure, chasing a bit of cash, as I'm well behind there. Last round ruined any chance of a top result anyway.

Merc, Tsunoda and Russell to Alfa, Perez and Sainz. Very Red Bull and Ferrari focussed for now, 7/8, the Alfa is my only exception. Could be good, could be brutal, there's not much in between.

A slight change since with Perez staying which means Vettel goes out and Ferrari is traded to Williams.

Stroll hit the wall before setting a lap, Q1 currently red flagged. Russell is the one struggling to get his car right in time after an engine issue in FP3, Max is out there.

Edit: Another red flag in Q1, Giovinazzi this time hitting the wall at turn 15, still half the field haven't set a time
