Desperately need a rd12 bye premo mid, but wondering if most are in the same boat and so Touk will suddenly be very highly owned and worth avoiding. Paying 823k for Touk Miller ... I mean, that can't go well, right?
You are right, it probably won’t end well. Having said that, I coughed up the cash for him last week in an attempt to balance my bye load. The other round 12 guys of note are almost as expensive.

I still don’t own titch, so will look to bring him and Whitfield in this week. But jeez there’s not a great deal of value out there

Looking at a pair of value Giants for me:
HepD -> Jelly
Jord0n -> Whit
Rowe -> Reeves

Think @stephen has now moved into pole position on the SCS leaderboard unless there are some lurkers here. Coming home like a freight train!
Next few weeks will tell the tale. I think I'm set up okay, particularly with these extra trades. Just 19 points between you, me and aps1.

Ridley to Whitfield is the only thing I know for sure I want to do this week. Probably funded by Dev Robertson down to someone (Max Holmes? CCJ? Already have Reeves and Bianco.)

I want to dump Heppell as well but don't like any of the available RD12 bye players (already have Stewart, Tich, Jelly and Taranto, Hall and Ziebell), so not sure where else to look. Touk is the obvious one but I am nervous about my eggs being in that basket for the rest of the year.

Jelly is just too good value for me to pass up on in RDT so I will have to let Touk go through to the keeper. Might be bringing him in AFL Fantasy instead where I'm now inside the T200. Just waiting to hear what that comp is doing with Rd14. If I do grab him this will of course then be the week Serong tags him to a 70 but if I don't he will go off for another 150+. :LOL:

I NEED to own DP3 in one format to partially quell my FOMO and RDT is looking the most likely where that might happen next week. "Only" $35K more than Miller so that's probably the big fish I'll target instead.

I see we both own Zorko so will share the pain there. I certainly don't have the luxury of side swapping him myself so will just have to wear that one in Rd14 now that the club has accepted the ban. :rolleyes:

Yeah if Dangerfield plays I will probably fiddle around with Zorko to him but can't imagine I'll pull the trigger.

Would be an aggressive play that could get you inside the T10 by the completion of the byes if Danger immediately bursts out of the gates (assuming he plays Rd13). But there's too many negatives for me such as Danger returning from an LTI and what will be his FWD/MID split? He wasn't even scoring that well in the few games he played this season with a huge BE. So I will take a more scaredy bear wait and see approach.

Also Zorko has a 5 Rd 110+ average and the Lions have a pretty good remaining draw. You don't even make any scratch in the move so there are a lot of downsides in pocketing those extra points. But please be my guest. Have to risk it to win the biscuit! :giggle:

1863 for me and Up to 110 rank (from 169) after a big round thanks to my new mid Darcy Parish 😍😍

I decided a r13 premo suited my team knowing the likely extra trades and game swap which wasn't confirmed when i pulled the move.

R14 bye plans have taking a big hit with the change though and i have to pull a few trades just to get near 18.

Whitfield in for me like most this week and likely lachie jones to firm up r14 for me...currently stewart is my only playing defender that round!

I'm hoping madden comes back in for lester next week and i will pay the rookie premium for him too

Hmmm I think I do have to trade Zorko. Will trade him to Touk this week and then replace him with Langford next. Only way I can find to get to 18 on field next week and still finish my team. Wish me luck! (Or at least refrain from getting out the voodoo dolls)

Yeah I like that play a lot better. Definitely an argument for trading out Zorko, especially when you're contending for it all, although I think I will likely hold steady. It was more the trading him to Danger (returning from an LTI) component I was not all that keen on.

Duncan is a somewhat forgotten man who I'm looking at next week with that high BE. Think he was leading the entire comp in DT AVG over the first two months or thereabouts, albeit missing the first few games. Hopefully Danger gets up so we can get another look at how Duncan (and Guthrie) is impacted by his return. It will either be he or Parish that comes in for me ... or perhaps even both. :giggle:

Think I'm getting too old to be trying to play two formats properly. I'm addled. Can't remember who I've got in what.

I liked @Blaze's whole team/trading plan X v Y in the SC thread, so I'm going to try that here.

Option X has a complete team next round with 4 trades left.
Has Houston and Touk Miller playing this round instead of rookies, and Houston over Madden next week.

Option Y has a complete team next round with 5 trades left.
Has Short v Houston for the rest of the season
and Neale v Touk

So the extra trade buys one round of Houston and Touk over rookies (worth 80 points?), plus one round of Houston over Madden, who may or may not be a donut in RD14. And then whatever you think the other XvYs give for the rest of the season.

Not sure what I think. And how much is that fifth trade worth with a complete team and 8 rounds to go?

Hey @stephen I am drawn towards option Y for a few reasons...1 injury (houston has some cloud over him and short has a higher ceiling if houli is injured which hasn't happened yet so the odds increase every week) in the run home I would back short over houston to make up 80 points over the remainder of the year. I have also looked at Houston for Short this week so I can see the appeal. You just need to be prepared to wear the injury risk if that strikes.

2. I had a look at your team and i think you are relying on guys like Heeney, Ridley, Heppell to keep going as other teams get completed on the run home. They look like your weak links in a final 22 (better than me with Tom Phillips! sigh...). add Houston into that mix and there are a few guys at risk of being negative PODS. That one extra trade could get you a completed team with 3 trades left and Darcy Parish instead of Heppell, or a Dangerfield instead of a Heeney. So i would factor that in too over the stretch home.

Neale v Touk is a hard read...i really have never watched touk so hard to comment but there is a role risk with rowell return (I'm eyeing of rowell as a bargain basement M8 to finish mids next week if he looks ok this round) Neale has a great run home but hasn't shown anything yet. You back neale on paper to beat Touk home but Mr Miller keeps proving the doubters (like me) wrong.

ALL OF THAT SAID You are sitting 19th (well done!) and you want to get more premos on field now so you didn't die wondering in the latter half of the year then it may be worth a swing for the cheap seats.....it would be well worth trying to bring in a POD big gun or 2 to try and differentiate yourself from the top 20. I love the B Crouch pick and certainly think he could continue to junk his was to big totals for the remainder of the year. If you think Touk or Neale is that guy for you then pick the one who is regardless of the bye weeks as they are taking on the big dogs in the other top teams for the rest of the year if not then ...Duncan/Parish etc... one of these guys for sure is your go to try and have a positive POD on the other top teams.

Good luck!

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. Ridley and Heppell will be replaced by Whitfield and Merrett in the completed team. That's already factored into the trades equation. Does that change your thinking on whether there's room for Houston?
