Been tossing up between forwards all week. Currently have Dusty/Hall/Dusty/Heeney. Think i've narrowed it down to Hind or Bolton. Had preferred Hind all week but now starting to seriously warm to Bolton. Any thoughts?
I recently got Bolton in DT. I think it probably comes down to what you think he scores with Richmond’s midfielders returning. He did slightly better than I expected last match (just after my purchase), albeit that was against the Crows, and perhaps with a couple of guys not quite at 100% yet. He only has one terrible score this year, the rest are all 85+ - so maybe his rest of season floor isn’t too bad regardless, if you can identify why he scored <30 and see that as unlikely to recur.

My understanding of Hind is more limited, but I gather he may have less role risk.

Trade one of your Dusty's to Ziebell. ;) (I assume that is who you meant, could be Zorko).

I like both the Hind and Bolton picks, but as I have Bolton already, but not Hind, I'm hoping Hind has a shocker this week to get him in a bit cheaper - I don't think it happens. I slightly prefer Bolton of the two, but it's close.

@wogitalia (and anyone else) question for a legacy league in Ultimate.

Mid season draft. FWD - choice between Haywood and Wicks. Throw in Schoenberg as the other option

I'd probably lean towards Schoenberg as I expect his long term position is forward.

Hayward has been much better this season but I think he is what he is at this point, super inconsistent, can do some good things but doesn't do nearly enough or consistently.

Wicks is similar to be honest, he's more pressure based so a bit better floor but still very inconsistent.

Can't say either is really a great pick though unless it's a seriously deep league.

Yeah it’s my last pick so scraping the barrel. I like Schoey. Got a mug only a mother could love. Hard at it.

Not from me and prefer R Gray instead ( if you are after a fwd option from Port) for a saving of $40,000.

8/11 rounds with 10 or more Centre Bounce Attendances.
Quiet start to the season with only 10 goals between RD1-RD9 but has recorded 5 goals from his last 2 matches.
I really like this suggestion.

Thoughts about SPP as a competitive Port forward option? Similar price, similar two game spike. Is Gray just benefiting from our historic fond memories of him?

Hey guys I don’t know how to get the footy wire projections for scores
I’m looking at getting danger in round 14 but will only be able to afford him for 567k

The supercoach site projects him to score 118 against port dropping to 576k
What we he need to score with his breakeven of 200 to fall into my price range?

Thanks for your help

Guilty as charged on the last count. Picked him up as a free agent in a keeper league on a 2yr deal and very happy with his recent performance. Would be selecting him in Classic if he had received fwd/mid dpp this season to loop with and cover the likes of Daniher, Impey, Heeney, etc but alas he did not which makes the likes of Sidebottom and potentially a discounted Dangerfield more attractive.

As for S Powell-Pepper, the dual position status is handy but given his low time on ground and poor kicking efficiency I would not be willing to head down that path given the likelihood of multiple scores below 70 and the unlikely event of averaging 90+ for the remainder of the season.

Shoenberg was drafted as a midfielder, I'd be surprised if he's still a forward in two years

Projected $575,900, not sure what score that is based on. I'm guessing around 80-90 you may be OK, but I'm no good with working out exact BE changes.

Danger R13 scores, approximate R14 price & BE
118 $575,800 BE 144
100 $567,900 BE 157
95 $565,700 BE 161
90 $563,500 BE 165

I'll be hoping for a score of 95 or under to ensure that he makes the cut for your R14 team, all the best.

Connor Rozee....126 and on fire v geelong....nice draw, 332k.....break out potential in the back half of the year. Happy to loop him at F6 with CCJ for a while and maybe a late upgrade if he spikes some cash.

Anyone care to talk me out of it? haha

I reckon you'd want to be pretty sure he's not going to keep playing mostly as a small forward. His scoring's been more consistently bad than inconsistent, and Port will get Butters and Fantasia back soonish.

Don't. Do. It.

Small forward who kicked 5.1, hasn't kicked more than 2 in any other game this year, hasn't gone over 100 in any other game this year. Went over 100 3 times last year, only once after round 3. Better player in Butters is returning soon and will push him further away from good roles.

He's Orazio Fantasia only he was a high draft pick so people think he's going to be something he isn't.

If that doesn't sell you, Kane Cornes likes him a lot.

If you're going to spend 600k to get him and someone else to loop at F6, then just get someone you don't need to loop instead.

Right now you've got Zorko, Hall, Ziebell, Bolton, Martin, Hawkins, Dale, Dixon, Cameron and Langford all averaging ~100+ over their last 5 games. Given the prices of some of those it just makes no sense to be targeting a guy who might average 80 from here, if you're lucky.

Throw in Dangerfield, Sidebottom and a few others and it just makes even less sense.

You're just wasting a trade if you're not getting someone to average 95+ for the rest of the season.

What role is Langford playing that now sees him scoring well and presenting as an option?

Has taken up a much more significant midfield role, a role he has always excelled in with limited minutes but has really grabbed it this time. Very similar story to Parish, another natural inside midfielder, drafted as an inside midfielder and then played as a HF because he's got decent size and they're paying Shiel so much they have to force feed him midfield minutes.

The question is if they realise that having a guy who can't kick, doesn't work both ways reliably and is a reluctant tackler has been a big problem the past couple of years and that said player is holding back the development of more talented guys who can and do do all those things instead.

It's a big test for Rutten, does the tail wag the dog and they play Shiel in the midfield because he's got a huge contract and the football department likes him or do they keep Langford and Parish there because they're just much better players. Interestingly I actually think Shiel can be a decent forward as well, the kicking is a bit easier up there and his other issues would be somewhat hidden but it's a tough move for him I'm sure.
