Are Melbourne trying to play Gawn up forward more? I heard a commentator on the radio suggesting that this was a factor in Melbourne's form slump and to get back on track they need to get Gawn back to helping in defence which I think is where his bigger scoring is driven from.
Don't watch enough Melbourne games to get a pattern.

Was he playing more back when Tomlinson was injured ? to allow Lever & May to keep there preferred roles ?

Is it a case that Jackson is demanding more ruck time ?

Or are opposition mids sharking more of Gawn's hitouts of late ?

Be interesting how Sideshow Bob fits in.

Decades of underachieving , the pressure to succeed (finally) is building.

Everyone said Gawn would score 150 every game in the first 6 rounds (close enough he did) , so cash him in while you are head.

Surely we all saw the Jackson influence coming and the rise of Darcy 😉

Wasn't their a article earlier in the season that said Darcy's numbers were 12 months ahead of Grundy in comparison ?
Soo does that mean the G&G saga is finished and we should all start D&G in the beginning??

Yes that was what the commentator was recommending that Melbourne do. He said Melbourne are at their best when Gawn is playing behind the ball.
all the data can be seen on the AFL site in the stats pro section

Last weeks Ruck contest was high lowest at 36. His HO adv was ok thought at 7 although, he was getting double digit in some of the earlier games. He did make up for it with a lot of marks and his uncontested possession rate was well higher , may have led to better DE% which saved him.

That is quite funny, they obviously hadn't told the Captain that! I haven't had Neale since rd 7, so was only posting for the ones who did, but it's certainly not making it any clearer for them

"LACHIE Neale is almost certain to play against St Kilda on Saturday night after overcoming a calf injury, while Brisbane teammate Jarrod Berry has suffered another setback in his frustrating season.

Berry played his first game in 10 weeks last Saturday against Adelaide, only to subsequently strain his calf.

The hard-running midfielder has played just four matches in 2021, with first a hamstring and then a long-term groin injury interrupting his campaign.

The news is better for the Lions' Brownlow medallist though after Neale got through main training on the Gold Coast on Thursday morning.

The 28-year-old missed the victory over the Crows, although coach Chris Fagan said post-match he was "very confident" Neale would recover for this week."
