Early planning with the aim to maximise as much durability as possible, whilst still chasing one or two injury valued. Just rough value rounded up.
Def: Lloyd(600k), Stewart(600k), Sicily(450k), Milera(250k) = $1.85M
Mid: Macrae(700k), Steele(700k), Miller(700k), Neale(550k), Crouch(500k) $3.15M
Ruck: Grundy(650k), Marshall(550k) $1.2M
Forward: Dangerfield(550k), Duncan(550k), English(500k) $1.6M
$1M Bench
$1.2M to spend on 2 x 210k rookies. Then that leaves around 130k for 6 more rookies.
Hopefully prices are a bit under each rounded to squeeze some extra funds out or spread Milera's money elsewhere.
Think that structure will be very popular 3-5-2-3.

Be nice to get Neale @ M5 and Crouch @ M6 but doubt it is possible unless you cut D3 or F3.

Yeh I think we can get there pretty quick with players like Daicos, Horne and Hollands at M6-8. Hopefully they are good for the 3 on field spots.

Dusty 496k...looks like a dance that many will be tempted by.

Easy pass for me, no Tigers players.

Ridley is interesting, but we have seen that he gets dumped into lockdown roles on smalls, so maybe hoping for a down game and buying on the dip is the best strategy for him. Redman and Heppell also continue to steal points from him.

Walsh - a pass as a starter imo. At that price, you need a player you can confidently captain. Walsh's floor is too low compared to some of the other elite mids.

Depending on Crouch & Sicily's price and 9 onfield rookies @ $ 181k each something like this looks achievable

D: Rich , Stewart , SICILY

M: Macrae , Steele , Miller , Neale , CROUCH

R: Gawn , Darcy

F: Duncan , Marshall (if F/R) , English (if F/R)

Can they change his position for next season based on his VFL games though ?
Where has he been playing in the VFL?

They definitely can change based on VFL positions, often how our loveable R/F loopholes lose DPP.

Preuss had his status changed after 3 AFL and 0 VFL games last year, so if Holland's has been playing primarily mid he might lose his DPP for next year, as he's played 3 VFL (*4 but one was cancelled early first quarter).

No idea to be honest.

Had 10 disposals v Southport and kicked 1.1 , then 27 disposals the following game against Aspley.

Haven't seen anything on his last game.

He’s been floating across half forward from the 2 of his 3 full games that I’ve watched. With a couple of very quick bursts up on the ball.

Big call... plenty of 21 year olds have been known to increase their scoring floor as they mature.
I think he's just about a dead set a lock as anyone could be at this stage.

Sam Walsh's scores this year so far :-

Screen Shot 2021-08-10 at 1.34.58 pm.png

8 scores of 130 or more so far this year.

Kid is the ultimate professional, no doubt he will have another big preseason & become an even better player next year. His work ethic is unbelievable, constantly in motion/ running to great areas to get the footy.

High on my list for next year again.

So based on Brice Mitchell's figures

Crouch approx $ 413k
Sicily approx $ 392k
Preuss approx $ 215k

I wonder if they add a "tax" to the ones that will be too obvious/popular to pick.
Brice Mitchell now has Crouch at $ 475k based on a 20% discount.

Price won't matter if he keeps getting soreness everytime they increase his training loads.

I agree on Walsh, he seems to struggle with the tag as well, which is alarm bells for a super premo.

I don't disagree with you there.
I reckon Oliver struggles with a hard tag as well.

Hasn't stopped both of them averaging 120 though has it? :p
The big question is if your going to get one of these rollercoaster super prems and you can only choose one, which one you choose?

Walsh- the Blues gun, improves with every season and is basically one of the main ball carriers for Carlton
Or
Oliver-Has gotten 200 a few times, Melbourne gun, Tracs growing skills and position has dampened Oli a little as he is the smaller of the 2 which means easier to tag, proven super premo for longer than Walsh.

Could go on and on abiut pros and cons but yeah those are some of the main points to give a bit of discussion
