It's not often I would defend the flog that I think Toby Greene is. The beating up of a security bloke outside a Caulfield pub with a few of his mates, because they were refused service, comes to mind. ( He was on crutches from an injury as well) But in the split seconds you have to decide what action to take when about to be tackled, its pretty hard to get it perfect everytime. The automatic thing to do for me is put an arm up to fend off or soften the tackle as much as I can. Called self preservation I think. If you have enough time to think about it and go for the throat or head, then yes absolutely throw the book at him, Fritsch had a bit more time from memory and looked a lot more deliberate about where he was aiming. I think the powers that be forget that it is a body contact sport sometimes.
