George and ocon out this round
Ins will either be leclerc/perez or bottas/vettel. Will have to wait on P1 results.

Reminder that lockout is tonight as well given its a sprint qualy weekend.

Confirming that the rules applied will be qualy and race points given based on the Sunday starting grid?
Yeah that's how they did it for Silverstone.

Regarding F2 and pay drivers - it just seems there aren't enough spots on the grid for everyone that's probably earned a spot through their junior performances. The whole structure of the ladder below where either you're committed to one of four groups or you're just filthy rich probably needs addressing in some way. An initial thought: seeing as how the F2 champion can't recontest F2 anyway, each team should get a chance to pick them up in reverse constructors order at the end of the season.

Think most teams would always be open to that opportunity anyway, but will decline for other factors anyway (money).

There is at least some awareness of the problem though - Toto has suggested teams running 3 cars with the 3rd car running rookies only in non-championship rounds of the season, or at a minimum mandating a minimum number of FP1 sessions for rookies.

Score: 737
Rd Rank: 507
Overall Rank: 203 (from 170)

1 point per million in remaining salary for my most recent trade ins (Williams X2 and G Russell). 35 points for $35,900,000 in remaining salary.

Current trades:
Out: Ocon, Williams, Williams
In: S Perez, Red Bull, Red Bull

Decided to grab Gasly instead of Perez, due to the extra cash and lower breakeven. The other two trades are still used to acquire double Red Bull.

Bottas qualified first for the sprint race, but will start the main race from last due to a penalty for replacing a power unit. Lewis starts the sprint 2nd, Max 3rd. I get the feeling Bottas will let Lewis through early in the sprint race then try to hold up Max, unless Max gets past Lewis first of course. Definitely possible for Max with that first section of Monza, you don't want to be stuffing around going into the first turn.

While they were announcing this they also said that Hamilton is going to need to take an engine penalty at some point. This absolutely blows my mind, considering he hasn't had any engine blow-ups or major contact AND there's effectively two less races than there were going to be with Belgium effectively not starting. Hard to imagine that rule is fit for purpose when they continue to try and wedge more races into the schedule.

Went with Hamilton as captain as the Mercedes looks very quick here. Bottas has a fair bit of point scoring potential from the back. Could outperform Perez drive from last to 8th last weekend.

The McLaren's look great but will wait one more round to consider Norris when he is cheap.

Good: DR winning

Bad: DR stealing VB's fastest lap points

Ugly: Me not following my group chat who all randomly decided to take DR fastest lap @ $41

Well that was unexpected. Great win by Ricci.
An action packed race with a number of overtaking moves, some working out better than others.

Wonder how many have double McLaren in their team?
I'm guessing scores will be on the low side, with a few quite high outliers.

Game is open. Scored 594 points and dropped 10 places to 17th overall, still only 200 points behind first place. Also still have the funds to trade Gasly to any of Perez, Norris, Leclerc or Dan Ric.

I will take these outcomes and run given how unpredictable the race results have been lately.

636 for me, holding position at 46.

Looks like fading Bottas has backfired in spectacular fashion! Thought I was a genius on Friday but the cards fell amazingly well for him, and he was actually able to overtake unlike last year.

Surely Verstappen takes his engine penalty next race now, will be interesting to see whether people trade him out or not...

603, down 11 spots to 28.

My key decision point was bottas/vettel over leclerc/perez, which yielded an extra $1M of bank and a whopping 1 point extra. From that perspective it was a win, but still sucks to have a week where you are full premium everywhere bar D4 and going back in the rankings.

Can go bottas/vettel to norris/perez and just call the team as "complete" there, but DR for a cash grab merits a look.

Would be a ballsy trade out, as you'd think he scores what Bottas did in Monza at the very least (and a very good chance of FL points as well). That said, if you can pick the second and third place finishers (assuming Lewis P1) out of Bottas/Norris/Perez/Leclerc/DR, you likely get ~200 points for not much more expensive than the cost of Max. Might be something in it!
