Question is who is that junior midfield player that is 3-4 years in as a forward and finally going to get that mid role? Langford, Butter, Rozee, Constable (assuming listed as a mid)???

Yeah, i like the look of Butters next year with duncan, dunkley. Rioli at F4.

That's some serious pre-season work, well done.

Got a feeling SC will stuff around with players like Cogs, as it's hard to see him being that cheap. But just try and tear your eyes away from some of that rebound premium value... Neale huh :eek:

Clark was drafted in the actual draft I believe, so he will be 117k. For some reason, the top rookie draftees seem to have been pricier than the lowest actual draft picks in previous years, so I suspect Dean will be ~125k.

Patrick Walker was pick #2 in the rookie draft last year and he was 102k. Curruthers and Saunders were #3 & #4 and also 102k.

Any genuine rookies that get picked up are 102k.
It's just that the rookie draft is no longer a rookie draft as teams just use it to retain their own players.

At a glance, 13 of the 26 picks were players that previously on an AFL list.
Meaning before any further rookies or preseason supplementary picks we'll only have 13 102kers next year.

Hawks held their traditional early pre-season time trial yesterday. It is a good win from Ward - at least a dozen Hawks have run low 6 min times for the 2Km time trial at the draft combine, so it's tough competition. Ward was the second fastest of anyone at the combine this season with a 5:57, but all of the other Hawks draftees this season can run too (Long, MacDonald, Butler, Serong) - all ran the 2km time trial below 6:25 at the combine. Ah interesting, they must've changed the rules in the last couple of years, cause Wilkie was pick #3 and was 125k in 2019.

Paywalled, but looked it up on tooserious and you're right, was a good rookie too.

Lachie Young was #6 and he was 120.4k too.

Straunch @ #7 was 118.9k, so they used to go down by $2500 per genuine rookie pick.

Honey was pick #2 the next year and 124.9k.

So they must of scrapped it last year.
