I was already concerned about the impact Luke Jackson was going to have on Gawn's scoring next year anyway - Jackson was superb in the finals series last season, think he is primed to explode next year & reduce some of Gawn's workload.
Yep, highly likely I start Jacko in the ruck and fade Gawn for my starting team.

I was considering the same, as you can always switch him forward too if there's the usual lack of quality forward options. He definitely seemed to improve late in the season, which likely won't be completely captured in his pricing.

Yep, that’s the plan.

Start Jacko RUC along with one of the big name rucks then get a look to see who the other best RUC will be. Then swap Jacko FWD and bring in said best RUC.

If Darcy can stay fit I think he will be the number 1 ruck in 2022. That’s a very big ‘if’ though.

It's the Queen's birthday clash in the middle of the bye rounds that almost makes it a given...
True. Would be nice from a SC perspective if one season they have their bye on either side of that match.

Like a Sunday match after the Queens Birthday match for one of the teams giving them a six day break.

Round 14 Rucks looks an issue :-

Lions - Big O
Pies - Grundy
Freo - Darcy
Dees - Gawn & Jackson
North - Goldy

Marshall maybe with Saints bye round 12, shame he is ruck only this year though.

Yep, pretty much all of my main ruck options I was thinking of have that bye. Guess just need full lines elsewhere or close to it and take a hit in the ruck.

Round 14 the killer again.

Lots of defenders and mids out to accompany those rucks.

Defence has Rich, Crisp, Maynard, Ryan, Sicily, Ziebell, Hall and a few others.
Midfield: Neale, Mcluggage, Brayshaw, Fyfe, Mitchell, Oliver, Petracca and others.

Yeah the mids are an issue now :-

Mid premiums on the bye that round - Oliver, Petracca, Mitchell, Neale, Lyons, Adams, Brayshaw to go with very popular mid rookies in Daicos & Horne-Francis

I reckon it could have been a lot worse.

Only Oliver, Trac and Neale look like the must haves from that group.

Daicos and Horne-Francis should hopefully be moved on by then if either or both are even in our teams to begin with.

Byes for the 2022 season :-

R12 Blues, Bombers, GWS, Port, Tigers, Saints

R13 Crows, Cats, GC, Swans, WC, Dogs

R14 Lions, Pies, Freo, Hawks, Dees, North.
I actually don't mind it this season especially in terms of mids.

Gives me options to start, Steele, Bont, Macrae, Neale, Titch, Trac/Oliver, Walsh, Merrett - I like.

True.

I was thinking :-

Round 12 mid premium - Steele (maybe my boy Walsh also)
Round 13 mid premiums -Miller, Macrae ( maybe Bont)
Round 14 mid premiums -Neale & Oliver

Good balance with Daicos, Horne-Francis & Hobbs as rookies on the field at this ridiculously early stage. Hoping Greg Clark the mature ager WCE took can take a bench spot, think he is the ideal one to cover for Redden who looks set to miss the start of the season.
