Needs a complete rethink of the coaching staff to how to approach the game.

Similar to when Simpson took over as coach , and the onus was on Marsh , Boon , Jones rotating the strike at every opportunity.

Similar to NZ with Edgar & Wright , drop ball run.

Everyone wants to play T20 like the WI and try and hit 2-3 balls a over for 6 , Afghanistan now adopt the same tactics.

When everyone wants to see ball , hit ball for 4 and it fails time after time , they need to change their thinking and approach.

One day a coach might come along and understand it.

Australia‘s approach at that time was generally only good for 230-240 in a 50 over game. You can’t even win 50 over cricket like that any more let alone T20.

Your suggested approach assumes that you can pick off 5 singles and hit a boundary each over at will. It ignores wickets, good balls, mis-hits, good fielding, etc. It just isn’t realistic to achieve this.

I have no doubt T20 tactics will evolve but doubt they revert back to this type of approach.

Mentioned in an earlier game. Someone was off injured and they wondered why he wasn’t batting when wickets fell they said had to wait until until the last wicket before a runner could be used.
Edit. May have been batting when went off injured so that may have been the reason.
