Been away for a week which was annoying, good to see I lost 400+ points going zampa and Larkin over couch and Maxwell

Anyway got my yr 12 results, 94 atar and got into my course so we chilling

Time to get some scorchers in and start the AFL research
Congratulations, very well done! I must say that at times I wondered how much of a distraction SC might be 🙂 Great to see you’ve got what you want. Enjoy the celebrations!

Looks like Cooper and Bartlett will end up the X factors for tomorrow. Guthrie offers a different match up option whilst Bazley is a genuine allrounder. Yes Bartlett has improved his batting but I suspect they won’t want to put him above Swepson at 8 as it makes their tail very skinny.

Maybe, but have you seen this from Seccombe talking about Bartlett:
“When you’ve got someone who comes in at number eight who is batting as well as he is, it’s a bonus for us at this point in time.”

The Heat aren’t exactly great at keeping the faith with some players. I haven’t really got a horse in this race currently, so I just see Bartlett as the most vulnerable one at this point.

Also the fact he bowls death and power surge. Bartlett gives them more options at the back of the innings you would think

I would be extremely surprised to see Bartlett as the X factor.

Guthrie and Cooper at very short odds for mine.

I think Bartlett and Cooper will be the x factors, Bartlett was pretty poor last game and was lucky to get a junk time wicket. Guthrie with 1/10 from 4 keeps his role imo. Could be wrong though. 🙄

I'm not getting sucked in by DGR players again.
I'm just having 2 this round although my current line up has 4 DGR coming up
and i would only add Wade to them.

Phillipe -Holt
Moises Vince Munro Duckett Nielsen -Seymour Connolly
Marsh Rashid Lamichhane Bazley Guthrie -Maxy Zampa

I wish you good luck on that front but the temptation will be too strong to resist and you will succumb to their siren song. As I harped on in the preseason, balance is key and whilst you have to avoid getting players for the sake of a double, you need to be targeting those recording premium averages and with fantasy friendly roles at a nice price at which they can outperform their cost outlay. Long term, it is not a wise decision to reduce the player pool and possible moves you can make on a regular basis and in doing so will end up digging a hole for yourself, if you are not too careful.

Anything under 4 Scorchers feels like suicide to me, talented squad in form and playing a side they just knocked over for 129 under a week ago and a Renegades side that self destructs at the first sign of pressure, looms as a big scoring week and most will set up to have 4 or 5 of the big names, not a week to get fancy for mine.

Had been looking at picking up a heat player this round with two Scorchers, but with Curran out I’m seriously tempted by DC. He’s got the Strikers this round whom he hit 50 off 16 against last season in the only time he batted against them.

The thing that’s got me interested, is that they’ve looked to promote DC up the order to get him firing, and I think he’s 1-2 boundaries away from putting it all together again. Of course, he could continue his terrible start and lose some more cash, but at 104k I’m more willing to take the punt on it.

Worth considering I think, and could just become a bench option in due course. Not sure he’s that big a priority this round over a Scorcher though. 66 BE and even without Curran have a strong batting and bowling line up. Phillippe, Vince and Henriques bat before him and Abbott, Dwarshuis, Jordan (at least this round).

If he gets 4 overs consistently once Jordan is gone, he becomes a much better prospect

Scorchers captain choice

MMarsh is the obvious but is a true bowler a better (in safety terms) an option
Say TYE or Mills
Depends on how you think the games are going to go. Marsh could easily fail with the bat in both games, but then he will probably bowl. Don’t think I’d be betting against him this round unless you are trying to catch up big in the rankings.

What I am tempted by is to give Sans the VC as he plays the first match of this round.
