Hi Rowsus,

A question regarding Cotchin.

He had his best couple of years the same time as Maric broke out. Correlation?

So, with Maric out for a while, will he take a while to wam into the scores we know he is capable of?

Hi Santoz.
I can see your point, but I think Cotchin can shine without Maric there. I guess we will know more after this season, but I will back Cotch to bounce back a bit this season, maybe not reach his 2012 level, but better than 2013.

Hi Rowsus

Thanks for all your help last year. Your advice has been valuable and has helped me to increase my supercoach ranking.

I was wondering if you can help me with one of my issues..

My supercoach team is close to being completed. My backline is mitchell, hanley, hurn, suckling and a few rookies. The forward line is danger, dusty, roughhead, parker, mitchell and a few rookies. The rest of team is solid and there wont be any adjustments unless players are injuried.

Im undecided whether to do perform the following:
1. bring in caddy for either parker or mitchell and then upgrade hurn to someone like simpson or an alternative
2. trade mitchell or parker to pavlich and leave the rest of the team
3. leave the team as it is and dont trade anyone
4. do you have a better option?

Thanks in advance

Hi, sorry if this is covered elsewhere (so many posts, so many pages).

Where do you see Jed Lamb in GWS structure this year and what sort of scores do you expect from him?

Just thinking with the lack of rookies could he moo for us from 244.5k?

hey mate finding your responses a great read... wouldn't mind hearing what you do for work...

thoughts on shaun hampson as a stepping stone? will get games as number one ruck for the first 6-8 weeks, first round pick, great midfield.

i was originally thinking mcintosh but he doesn't seem like he will get a full game for a while...

a 0-2-2 ruck structure (sandi as the other ruck) would allow me to get another premium into my fwd line. (4-1-3) with the midpricer being caddy and the rooks being rohan, Merret and JKH

if not hampson/hickey/mcintoish id go minion or goldy and replace on of my premium fwds with ben kennedy.

i just think the mid rucks if rucking as the number one ruck have greater upside than the rookie or near rookie priced fwds...

your opinion is greatly appreciated

thanks

Hi Adrenaline,
it's really hard to pick between Mitchell and Parker. I will probably have one of them in my team. I think I'd change one of them to Pav, but I'm not sure which one, at this stage maybe Parker.
I don't think you are making ground with your first option, and could actually be losing ground.
Good luck :)

Hi blue,
I was hoping he might run through the Mids a bit this year, with his Club shift, but it didn't seem to happen in the NAB. That being the case, I think he doesn't compare well to the likes of Kennedy B and Rohan, who are both cheaper, and will probably score as well, or better. We all know small forwards can disappoint, but nothing disappoints more than a small forward in a losing team.
I think he will average in the low 80's, and his Price will peak at his bye at around +$150k from his opening price, which is useful, but I think you can possibly do better elsewhere.

Hi lips,
I'm currently unemployed in Denmark, but I used to manage a jewellery business in Melbourne.
I think McIntosh is too risky, I don't like Hampson, and I like Goldy more than Minson, so it comes down to:
Hickey + Prem Fwd versus Goldy + Bennedy
To be honest, either could function well, and even though I will probably have Bennedy in my team, under this X v Y equation, I think I'd go Hickey + Fwd Prem. Bennedy is under the vagaries of small Fwd scoring. 45 one week, 95 the next. I think Hickey will be more consistent than that, so I'd go that way.
Good luck :)

Hi Rowsus how's it going? I've almost made up my mind to pick Bernie Vince as a starting mid, seems to tick a lot of boxes for me, new club, great new coach in Roos, pumping out decent preseason scores, round 10 bye. I'd be looking to upgrade him after round nine, hopefully he can fill M4/5 until then and do a decent job.

Just tell me though, am i mad, should this be one of those preseason ideas you flirt with but sensibly jump off before round 1? Your usual brilliance guidance would be appreciated :)

Thanks - Drew.

thanks mate leaves me with nearly 100k so after a few price rises from hickey I'm sure i can then upgrade to the inform ruck, just hard to pick teams structures at this stage...

well in that case for a playing fwd spot would you go ben kennedy or gary rohan?

I'm a Melbourne supporter, but I think I'd stay away. I don't think he can average more than 105, and if manages that to the byes he makes about $80-$85k. I think I'd rather a Polec/Tyson/Michie/Ellis and $200+k than Vince.

That's a decision I'm currently wrestling with myself. I currently have Kennedy, but that could easily change come round 1.

Hey rowsus, love your work please give me a reason not to pick Swan over Pendelbury!
Swan has more of that WOW factor, and can pull off some really big scores, but that also comes with more down games than Pendlebury. There may not be much between them by the end of the year, but Pendles is more consistent, and you'd be happier with the VC/C on him each week than Swan.

Thanks Rowsus that is pretty much what I was thinking too but it helps to have someone else's thoughts (and yet he still may make my R1 team:eek:).

While I'm here everyone seems to be pumping up Polec (and yes he is cuurently sittting M9 in my team).

I'm not sold yet, plenty of Mid rooks at less $.

Polec only 16 games in 3 years at 51.8 career average, only three games above 80 (2 81's and a 93), if this is what we can expect from him I just might think that we all should be looking elsewhere (might even be better with a rejig and Lamb in the forwards averaging in the low 80's).

Rowsus,

Any thoughts on Webster? Was on my original watch list (only priced at 45, $241k), so he's somewhere in between a rookie and a mid-pricer. Whilst I'm not keen on someone like Suckling (don't think he's a keeper or a cash cow), is it inconceivable that Webster could average, say, 80, and make enough profit to be a stepping stone? Do we treat him like a REALLY expensive rookie, or is it too risky?

TBO,
I think it is too risky. He needs to average 80 to make a bit over $150k by his bye, and I'm just not confident he will. The difference between Webster and say Tyson, is that we know Tyson is running through the Midfield, so should get at least 80/game. With Webster that is a big question mark. While you might look at him as a Stepping stone, if averages 70-75 he won't make a lot of money, or give you a lot of points. Remember, the key to picking any stepping stone, as opposed to Rookie, is that they need to average just below the last Keeper in that position. In Websters case, as he is a Defender, you need to him average just below what you want/expect from your D6. I think the minimum you should take him on is around 80. If you think he can't do that or better, leave him out. Also, don't get seduced by his round 1 score. Remember St Kilda have a lot of players out round 1, and round 1 scores only affect pricing once, not 3 times like round 3 scores and beyond do.

Rowsus,

I think I'm in agreement with you there. I'm seeing him as a bit of a "Karnezis", similar situation to last year where he was picked mainly to fill in for the lack of rookie options.
