That would have scored 1133 + Magee.
My thought process is attempt to take advantage of these loops on offer. It’s not playing a fair game, but it’s only a 10 week comp, and I’ve copped a donut already given Brazill didn’t suit up last week, and I was already running 2 donuts to get Kielys score.

1000 on the knocker with a donut, Lewis and Svarc with pretty ordinary scores, a couple of poor forward rookies, and no Ferguson or Birch, I thought was a pretty good result.
So I’m just going to keep pushing the boundaries. The small price rises didn’t really scare me away from the tactics I’m using. Not sure that 16 premiums is possible given the rises the good rookies had.

Yup does look that way early. I had a look at the "bye" players in my trades but felt it was still better for me to go with my original plans. It should set me up better for any future postponements.

Current trades:
Out: C Dalton, C Randall and C Svarc
In: E Marinoff, L Birch and J Ferguson
Devils Advocate

Alternative A
Out: C Dalton, MORRISON and one of C Randall and C Svarc
In: E Marinoff, L Birch, Best Forward you can afford selling either Randall or Svarc and selling the other one (let Ferguson go for a week), then next week upgrade your weakest bench forward to a mid rookie to get back to 2 mids on the pine.

Alternative B
Out: C Dalton, C Randall and C Svarc
In: Premium Forward, L Birch and J Ferguson (Morrison moves onfield and your weakest forward moves to the bench) - your trade in can be a WB or Lions Player if you are happy to take an average score (ie O'Dwyer 106) and potentially trade out next week for a points gain
==> If Morrison scores close enough to Marinoff (ie within 35 points) then the points is 106 -35 - Lowest Fwd score so could be a 35-45 point gain, apart from a possible wasted trade, the downside begins if Marinoff > Morrison by 60 points or more.

I reckon Morrison goes well against a slightly undermanned Blues mids group (without the under-rated Grace Egan).

As I am likely to run out of time to look tomorrow I have made some calls, hopefully Saturday selection doesn't throw up too much to make me reconsider.

J Garner, C Thomas and T Bohanna ==> O O'Dwyer, T White and B Eddey (marginally over Gilmore).

Leaves my team as :-

I am a LONG way back so rather than be conventional I have tried to play some odds even if it means trading hard in Round 3 and possibly missing some cash.

My logic is - Garner is a high scorer but is unlikely to match O'Dwyer this week, 106 was 5th highest for the round, Garner may finish top 5 but is a low chance of a top 5 score on any given week. I free up big $$$ and can afford to bring in White who I think will play fulltime mid and average enough above her average to be a decent pick at least for a few weeks.

I pass on Ferguson, which could backfire, but if she proves to be a 1 week wonder I gain a POD in Magee (vs Ferguson) without trading. Ditto Gilmore with Eddey, as a North player I get a chance to see her in the flesh if North play their scheduled Hobart match so it was the deciding factor. If Lee and McCarthy have a big week then potentially my bench could appear somewhat healthier.

I end up with quite a lot (4) of locked in Bris vs Dogs average scores which I don't love and I think my team has decent cash generation in it but will prioritise points over cash generation and trades for now and deal with the potential consequences later.

Most likely I can o***et the negatives if I can nail an extra value pick than the average coach ahead of me, which I think is achievable once we get a handle on pricings and breakevens and/or an important midfield player gets injured and an onball spot opens up unexpectedly for a defender or midfielder.

Bring on this week.

Adjustments for COVID

If a game is postponed, all players selected in that game will receive their 2022 season average. If the game is postponed prior to team announcements, averages will apply to those who played the round prior.

If averages are applied, prices will not change.

If a game gets postponed but is still played at least 24 hours prior to the commencement of the following round, the players’ score in the rescheduled game will still count and averages will not be applied.

See T&Cs for further details.

Good to know, cheers.
Still doesn’t waver me off O’Dwyer. If it was 80 I probably wouldn’t go there, but 106 is a great opening score.

COLLINGWOOD forward Chloe Molloy headlines a list of stars sitting out round two due to health and safety protocols.

After losing its entire opponent in the Western Bulldogs earlier this week, Geelong will face Carlton with four senior stars isolating – midfielders Nina Morrison, Julia Crockett-Grills and Sophie Van De Heuval, as well as defender Georgie Rankin.

Young midfield pair Darcy Moloney and Laura Gardiner and forward Danielle Higgins will play their first games for the year, while raw key position player Gabbi Featherston will make her debut.

Joining Molloy on the sidelines for the Magpies is skipper Brianna Davey (ACL) and Tarni Brown (concussion), with Alana Porter, Aleisha Newman and Amelia Velardo coming into the side.

St Kilda has swung the axe after its disappointing loss to Richmond, dropping Kate McCarthy, Bella Shannon and Jess Matin, while former skipper Rhi Watt will miss due to health and safety protocols.

It leaves the Saints reliant on second-gamer Leah Cutting in the ruck, while they will happily regain important trio Kate Shierlaw, Nicola Xenos and Molly McDonald from health and safety protocols, as well as Nat Exon.

Saturday will mark speedy forward Xenos' first game since 2020, having sat out 2021 with a ruptured ACL.

Maddy Guerin has been named in the place of tough Carlton midfielder Grace Egan, who will miss at least a month with a punctured lung and broken ribs.

None of the four sides playing on Saturday have had to rely on top-up players to fill their emergencies, unlike Melbourne and Richmond who are playing on Friday night.

Saturday, January 15
Collingwood v St Kilda at Victoria Park, 3.10pm AEDT
