13/1056 (Bowers)

Webster 72, Schleicher 43, Birch 59
Morrison 45, Prespakis 51, Rowbottom 75, Marinoff 98, Bowers 152 x 2
Fuller 59
Bohanna 49, Howarth 70, McCarthy 49, Hanks 82

Ferguson, Monahan and Eddey to come. Hopefully can make up some ground this week that I lost last week.
15/1101 (Bowers)

Ferguson 17 and Eddey 28 not so good. One last player in Monahan to come or Reid's 20. Hopefully Monahan isn't a H&S and can push beyond the 1150 score.

951 with Bodey to come. Bowers gets the captaincy for the rest of the season, and if I take it off her again I deserve exactly what's coming to me. Hatchard to McDonald will happen as soon as lockout opens!

Hard to believe you even contemplated taking the captaincy off her, let alone actually following through with the thought, given your team name.

I agree! I got caught up in my own hype after the first 2 rounds, didn't think I could do wrong... Fell for the time-honoured trap of captaining a trade-in. A lesson that never can be taught too many times...

THE WESTERN Bulldogs and West Coast will play two games in five days as the AFL seeks to condense the NAB AFLW fixture in response to the Western Australia border changes.

Collingwood and Fremantle will play in a twilight match this Thursday at Victoria Park, with GWS and the Bulldogs' clash switched from Sunday to Friday twilight.

The Dogs will then back up against Fremantle at VU Whitten Oval on Tuesday night – in a game shifted from round 10 – while the Pies will take on the Eagles in a twilight affair at Victoria Park on the same day (shifted from round six).

The extra games have been classified by the AFL as "additional games", rather than rounds four or five.

Suitable broadcast lighting at night is an issue at Victoria Park, hence the twilight slots.

The WA state government last week announced it would not open its borders on February 5 as first planned due to COVID-19 outbreaks around the country.

Both Fremantle and West Coast had previously agreed to temporarily shift to Victoria for a three-week stint, and given players' and coaches' external work and family commitments, the AFL is keen to stick to that schedule.

The Western Bulldogs have two games to make up after a COVID-19 outbreak hit the club, rendering player numbers so low a team could not be fielded.

I wonder what happens with the additional games. None of them are the postponed games. It is the big prize round aswell.
Could be big if Bonnici/Bowers and others get 2 games.

Looks as though those two extra games will be included as part of round 4 so sounds like a DGR to me.

Teams which have a heap of players from WC, Freo, Coll and WB are going to get a big head start if that's the case. I have 5 before trades so would end up with 8 after trades.

I think some options could be
- ignore the additional games
- add the additional games to round 4
- add the additional games to round 5
- split rounds 4 and 5 into 3 weeks something like 5+6+5 or 5+5+6 depending on what the week 5 fixture looks like which is only speculation and very tricky to guess

Because of average scores being used in previous rounds it makes DGW scores very tricky, if they do go with DGW scores letting teams get the HIGHER of 2 scores may be fairer than letting teams get BOTH scores.

Regardless of which way it goes there will be ways to play the odds so it will be worth getting on here to see what people think is the best approach.

I am hopping lockout lifts early Wednesday so I can finalise my trades on Wednesday night following Thursday teams.
