No knowledge of the players or sport is necessary and as myself and countless others that participate in the international formats can attest to, it is one of the biggest advantages. There is a common misconception that you must consume as much information or watch as much of the game as possible for success at fantasy sports but this is highly inaccurate and you will be pleasantly surprised at how well your strategies transfer to other formats and with the amount of astute coaches on this site, a lack of knowledge surrounding a sport should be of no hindrance.

Take for example @Bermi. He joined us over in the NFL thread in 2019 without having any interest in the NFL or knowledge about the sport and the various terms (fantasy or otherwise) floated around. In the space of 3 seasons, he has improved year on year and in the season just completed he finished in the top 100 for Sportsdeck NFL from 2331 participants and also won a $500 weekly prize in the 7Plus NFL fantasy game. The camaraderie in these tight knit communities always comes up as a highlight of the season, as well as the time and effort put in by members in providing advice to coaches when deciding what course of action to take or to provide them with an alternative to consider, is a testament to the culture set and maintained by those that frequent SCS.

Therefore, with the prizes on offer and to support this wonderful initiative I strongly urge coaches to give it a go, as what do you have to lose?

I can confirm this. I knew pretty much zero about darts (apart from what I read here on site) before joining the last comp, and I would have top scored in our SCS group if the site we used had saved my C properly. I actually enjoyed following along and saw some very good matches that I wouldn't have otherwise. This looks to be an even better ran comp than the official one. Definitely worth having a go for the 5 mins or less effort needed in putting a team together.

I hadn’t entered the darts thread before the World Champs, but have been a watcher of that event over the years. Just hoping to provide an entry into what is a great sport, the players look like they live a life of beer and pies (other than Price), and they probably do, but they are that talented and it’s a great sport to watch.
Love to see a few more entries because I genuinely think this will be an underrated comp over the course of the year.

And for those that feel that it might impinge on their AFL Supercoach research, trades, etc most of the tournaments fall outside of the AFL SC season and due to the long format of the Cazoo Premier League (and small pool of players to choose from), trading will likely be infrequent and at intervals throughout those 16 weeks.

The AFL's commitment to play on in 2022 could see a pool of top-up players established that all clubs are able to draw on when needed

AFL clubs requiring top-up talent to cover for players sidelined with COVID-19 or identified as close contacts in 2022 may be forced to choose from a designated pool.

The proposal is one of many being thrashed out by the AFL and its clubs in the lead-up to the season-opener on March 16 and could result in a situation where a player is chosen by one club one weekend, and other clubs thereafter.

The pool would be sourced from state leagues Australia-wide and players with AFL experience would seemingly be best-placed to fill the positions due to the gulf between the elite level and all competitions beneath it.

The AFL has made it clear to clubs it will be seeking them to "play on" through even extreme absences due to COVID-19 infections. It is yet to mandate on the number of listed players each club must have available before being able to access top-up talent.

A designated pool of players to cover unavailable listed players is seen to be a fairer option than other scenarios, as there is great discrepancy in talent depth in the alliances each AFL club has with its state league operations.

It is believed the AFL is also considering taking its own position on a designated time a COVID-infected player is required to be stood down from playing and training. There is a strong hope at club level that the timeframe could be as few as five days, but there is an understanding that a ruling on that aspect of the AFL's 2022 COVID-19 protocols would be determined by health authorities.

Another of our highly decorated sportsman, Jason Belmonte, who sadly does not receive the admiration from Australia that he rightfully deserves has returned from a 10 month hiatus. He has extended his lead for the most major titles in PBA history (14) and is now into equal ninth for most career titles (26) with a career set to span at least a few more decades.

Seems a tad misplaced given it is unlikely he would have any input in the decision making process and more onus falls on current and past management for failing to maintain the grandstand to an acceptable standard (if possible). Serves as a timely reminder to cherish similar sites, etc that hold sentimental value as more often than not, they will eventually be replaced which then provides the ability of the cycle to continue.

The Jack Dyer Grandstand was built in 1914 and is the last remaining nod to the past at Tigerland, but will make way for the new facility and expanded playing surface. The grandstand was recently declared unsafe by the AFL and can no longer be occupied by spectators for matches at the venue.

The State Government announced funding of $15.5 million to the project, which comes on top of the $15 million already committed by the Federal Government in early 2019. The AFL club will now work to secure the remaining $29.5 million in funding needed to deliver the project.

Well he is the official historian of the club so I thought he might argue to keep it.
The National Trust wanted to keep it. They called it called it architecturally, culturally and historically significant. It was big part of keeping up morale during WW2 aa the main ground in Melbourne.
Also , it has been a landmark on the major road Punt rd for over 100 years.
They could spend money to fix it, it is only being bulldozed to enable MCG dimensions for training purposes.
