I see a lot of teams with De Koning .. but a fringe GEE player scares the hell out of me ...
I also note MaCrae is pretty well hyped ... can't take him yet based on last seasons output ..
- Rowell is a place holder for Berry etc ..

- Yep .. my Ruck line will likely change as I tinker ...
SDK rated highly internally apparently - likely Henderson replacement from what I can gather

I like the Berry pick - Playing wing in recent match sim is a little worrying

Interesting using JHF , Daicos & Ward + 12 X $ 123,900.00 players I can get

3 + Sicily
3 + Neale + Berry
2
2 + Heeney + Coniglio

(Hopefully 13 keepers/premiums and both Berry & Coniglio could be 85-90+)

$ 57,600.00 to play around with the rookies

No Coleman , Constable , Curnow , Gresham , Milera , D Rioli though

Wait and see how many of the $ 123,900.00 rookies actually get selected and look viable I guess.

I only count 9 players that I would count as true premiums.
The first 4 fwds I like but all have some concerns - I think picking one of Dunkley/ Duncan & 2 of those 4 would be a better balance.
Any reason for no Charlie Curnow? I get serious Joe Daniher vibes from last year with him.
Honestly hadn't noticed him as I haven't really looked that low, basically haven't gone below 230k. If he's fit he's definitely an option.

I've tossed up so many structures already. The one constant that I'm sitting on is 2-3 premium defenders at the max.

Forwards I love the whole group to be honest and I'm really struggling with them...

I've got two schools of thought...

1. I feel very comfortable picking 6 of them right now to end the season conflicting with:
2. The DPP changes are huge for the FWD position, it might actually be a reason I did so well in AFLF last year that I hated the forwards so much that I didn't start any so I ended up with Kelly, Fyfe, Darcy, Hall and the likes instead of the trash available at the start of the season!

Dunkley is such a hard decision... we have another season of him playing in position and scoring amazing and out of position and being terrible. The fact he wasn't in the mix when it mattered says an awful lot to me. That he found another body part to injury seriously is also definitely on my mind. It's so hard to pick really. He's definitely behind Smith, Bont and Macrae, they're just comfortably better players. Libba is a much better inside player, his handball skills are in the top 0.01% to have ever played the game and the difference in the Dogs when he got first touch compared to anyone else was remarkable. Admittedly they waste Smith on a wing a lot to try and fit Treloar and Dunkley in but they're still overloaded and the fact they went with Treloar when it mattered also says something to me.

The hard part is I think they absolutely need Treloar's speed through the middle more than they need Dunkley's tackling and hardness because Libba already does both better and Bont and Macrae are both also better inside but lack speed. Basically Smith and Treloar give them something they don't have, Dunkley is more of the same.

That said, I think the case can be made for Dunkley to play midfield and his ceiling is untouchable. I think only De Goey and maybe Heeney could genuinely go with his scoring and it would require perfection from them and I'm still not sure they can go as high as Dunkley. My big separation is Dunkley is a much better fantasy player than he is actual player and his role is decided on the latter while the former is reliant on his role.

Still really like him as a pick though, this is as much devils advocate.

Duncan is the safe pick.

I always find it hard though as the forwards have always been value hunting grounds for me. The premium end is generally lower, the cutoff is generally lower and this year with the DPP guys the amount of bailouts will be higher. Paying high prices for forwards just seems a waste.

Definitely agree though, Dunkley is the one who could get away from you real quick if you don't have him, his role is right and he stays fit, which can force the defensive pick.

Ends up too cookie cutter

Lloyd , Short , Whitfield * , Sicily + 4

Macrae , Steele , Mitchell , Neale , Berry , JHF , Daicos , Ward + 3

Darcy , Big O + 1

Dunkley * , Duncan * , Heeney , Coniglio * + 4

Can't fault any of your premo choices at this early stage, all are solid and I have many of them too.
I do think you are leaving yourself a bit exposed up forward with C Curnow at F3, if he were to get injured early it would be a real pain to restructure to cover. I would probably try and drop one premo back to a value play/stepping stone and a 650k-700k premo mid to a slightly cheaper one then use the money to bolster the forward line with a Butters/Heeney/De Goey at F2.

What’s the reason for no Lloyd?

Nice side overall mate - no Dawson at the swans anymore so I think Lloyd will be given the ball at any opportunity/ swans love the ball in his hands.
Not my side but I don’t see Lloyd as a must have as ball movement is quicker than in the past when the seagull had chips everywhere. Still probably top 3 defender but don’t see him 10 pts ahead of everyone else.

Yeah no real reason to be honest, think he is fine as a starting pick and definitely in my considerations. For the current build the three value guys worked better (Ridley, Whitfield, Sicily).

Where Team PC sits at the end of Jan -

D: Seagull, Riddler, Whitfield, Milera, Coleman, O'Driscoll, (McDonagh, Dean)
M: Macrae, Steele, Oliver, Petrock, Neale, JHR, Daicos, Hobbs, (Butler, GClark, McComb)
R: Darcy, Grundy, (Hayes)
F: Dunks, Butters, Cogs, Curnow, Maginnes, Hollands, (Pedler, Skinner)

Flip flopping a bit on F2/M4 and D4 - was Rioli, but dropping him back to Milera meant Heeney could go to Petrock, after briefly being Duncan. Still unsure, would rather Mitchell or Walsh but out of reach.

Have at it :)

May have gone 1 heavy on my own team. Fire away with any feedback
What have you heard on Campbell. Is the lad in line for Dawson/Hewett Role.?

Also like the Bowey Selection, he has been in my Def line a few times Along with Coleman.

He's got to be in the mix for a spot. I think Stephens should be in the lead for the wing slot from Dawson. I think Heeney into Hewett's midfield role and Campbell probably slots onto a HFF as a result.

Back 6 was pretty settled over the last 6 weeks or so and Blakey, imo, will start in that secondary rebounding role alongside Cunningham, Lloyd, Rampe, McCartin, Melican and O'Riordan/Fox.

Heeney could also go wing which probably kills of Stephens but opens more midfield work for Gulden/Warner/Campbell group.

First Draft.

Obviously need the rookies to fall and a lot of those are placeholders :)
No Darcy, interested for the thoughts there?

Can't fault the side mate, rock solid all over.
