FREMANTLE has managed four players for its Tuesday night clash with the Western Bulldogs at VU Whitten Oval.

First-year players Aine Tighe, Makaela Tuhakaraina and Dana East will all watch from the sidelines after the five-day turnaround, while Kara Antonio will be rested for the second time this season.

Jasmin Stewart has been omitted after just one game this year.

The Dockers' first selection at the 2021 NAB AFLW Draft Amy Franklin will make her debut, as will Mikayla Morrison who was drafted in 2020. Tiah Toth and Matilda Sergeant will both return to the side after a week's rest, and Bianca Webb will play her first game of the season.

All-Australian defender Janelle Cuthbertson was set to return after missing the previous two matches due to concussion, but the star Docker has been ruled out for up to six weeks with a fractured jaw.

Cuthbertson suffered the injury in a training incident after colliding with a teammate.

The Western Bulldogs will also have a debutant, with Jemima Woods coming into the side after being added to the list to replace the inactive Kirsten McLeod, and Elizabeth Snell returns from health and safety protocols.

Both Amanda Ling and Nell Morris-Dalton will be managed.

Totally forgot about this game, will be more "managed" on the weekend you'd think backing up.

This game doesn’t count for fantasy purposes right?

Probably a good result for D East owners with her getting a rest before the game that does count.

Doesn't count for this round. However the scores will count for a player’s average that will be applied later in the season.

Hopefully East does get recalled for the Sunday game but it will be unknown before lockout.

1129, 102nd and 235th now.

I will have to look Hampson to Birch, and getting this weeks best rookies or mid pricers in place of 2 of Magee, Reid, Lee and Kiely.
939, 280th (weekly) and 198th (overall) now, and 61 points behind 150th place

Parker and Kearns sideways to Swanson and Sherar would allow me to upgrade Eddey to E Jones.

Hi all

In the first few weeks of the season I checked with Moreira’s Magic whether it would be possible to hold an Eliminator Competition this year to add some spice for the top 32/64 competitors in the rankings.

As the focus of the comp is overall in season 1 they won’t be holding an official knockout comp but I am planning to coordinate a 32 team knockout (with mm’s blessing) commencing in Round 6 with the GF in Round 10.

Again, it won’t be official, but it will be well worth the bragging rights as winning 5 straight H2H matches against the best of the best AFLW coaches is a real achievement.

To keep the quality high I will have an entry floor of top 200 in the 2022 season rankings, hopefully with enough publicity and support from the top tier coaches the cut-off becomes top 100 or better.

I hope that the SCS coaches will jump onboard and take on the challenge, and that it may become a part of the official game (along with leagues) for the next instalment.

Cheers.
Top 200 coaches at the conclusion of Round 4, highlighted are coaches who are active on this thread.

THIS WEEKEND'S match between Greater Western Sydney and St Kilda has been postponed, with the Giants unable to field a side due to AFL health and safety protocols.

It's the second week in a row St Kilda has lost a match due to an opposition hit by COVID-19, but the Saints will play a make-up game against West Coast on Tuesday, February 8 at Trevor Barker Oval at 5:10pm AEDT.

The Saints-Eagles clash will be considered as part of round five, with the AFL recently ruling a round would count from Wednesday to the following Tuesday, with teams able to play multiple games per round if necessary.

Several games have also had their dates or times altered:

  • Western Bulldogs v Richmond has moved from Saturday night to Sunday at 1:10pm AEDT
  • Melbourne v Gold Coast has moved from Sunday to Saturday at 7:10pm AEDT
  • North Melbourne v Fremantle will still be played on Sunday, but will now start at 5:10pm AEDT, having initially been scheduled for 1:10pm
The Giants had at least six players – Bec Privitelli, Katie Loynes, Pepa Randall, Chloe Dalton, Tait Mackrill and Georgia Garnett – ruled out under the protocols for their big win over the Western Bulldogs last Friday night.

"While the ongoing pandemic continues to impact and challenge our competition and our wider community, we want to thank every AFLW Club, players and the AFLPA, umpires, venues, governments, ticketing agents and all supporters for their understanding and commitment to the 2022 NAB AFL Women’s Competition," AFL general manager competition management Laura Kane said.

"The fixture remains a week-to-week proposition and the AFL will continue to work closely with respective state governments and health authorities on arrangements that both protects the health and safety of the community and allows us to progress the NAB AFLW season."

NAB AFLW Round Five

Morrison looks a lively type. 40 points with 2 FA and starts at $14,300 with the 17 BE.
Will give her another week to see if she backs up this week.
Morrison is one of the more likely players to be rotated out for Sunday. Hopefully she does play so that’s she remains eligible for an average score for any Freo byes through upcoming rounds.

Having an issue where I make Kiely my utility player, but when I go to trade it resets to West. Is there a way around this?
