Interesting to me is that Steele and Miller both started off as taggers .... look at them now ...
- Not sure Hewett can ever reach their heights though ... do have him in my AF Fantasy team for now though ..
Hewett is more on the Jarryd Lyons level, who to be fair has pushed pretty damn close to Touk and Steele land.
Averaged 88 a couple of years ago playing as a HF with some stopping roles, injury completely derailed his 2020 season, last year he spent the first 2/3 of the season playing as a lockdown defender. Last third or so he was released into the midfield where he averaged 90 but that's behind Mills, Parker and JPK and playing as the defensive midfielder.
When he does get to cut loose he can score very freely. Very tidy ball user, wins contests and tackles very well, a very good mix. Not going to break games open but will just outwork to contests, again, Jarryd Lyons like.
The real question is how Carlton actually want to use him. He's a very good defensive midfielder, a solid tagger in the right matchups or he can be a very good ball winning and spread midfielder, personally I think Carlton needs the last part more than anything but I honestly have no idea. He's a really good value signing for them though.
I think he's probably a better play in draft leagues though, basically has to be a keeper and I think 105 is possible by very much on the higher end of possible outcomes and well beyond my expected outcomes on him. I think realistically he's looking to consolidate a solid 90+ full season as a mid, if that kind of number works then he's in play for you, if it doesn't then avoid. Basically I'd bet good money he's in the 85-95 range if his role is good, to go beyond that it needs to be great. If he ends up lining up in a back pocket then it goes way down!
