Interesting to look at these two sides as the structures are similar. I like them both with Rowell / Caldwell at M5.

@toxic = Dawson, Heppell, Trac, Caldwell, Gresham, Rayner

versus

@TopBillings = Lloyd, Ridley, Oliver, Rowell, Butters, Rookie

I love the POD's in @toxic side and I would be more inclined to lean that way, but I think @TopBillings side seems a slightly safer bet.

Yeah I’m inclined to think Curnow/Rachelle type @ F5/6 will be the go ala @toxic
Be interesting to see if people pay up for Rachele.

Advantage of having Kiddy with his DPP can start him forward (with Curnow F6) if it looks more viable to field defender rookies (if we actually get them Round 1)

I'm struggling to get excited about Rachele. Light, small forward in a bottom team? Maybe if he was $102k.

Feels like 2 sub $200k options for the bench might be all she wrote for forward rookies and as I scroll up from the bottom I keep landing on Curnow as basically the cheapest guy that will play and might score ok.

I liked my Preuss team with Cogs at F6 much more :p

Same, will have to see some dominating pre-season numbers to even consider him I think.

I am more excited at having playing rookies at D4-6 than getting a playing F6 , like the option of starting Kiddy as a forward then opens up options if and when JHF gets DPP.

Still happy with Dunkley , Duncan , Heeney , Coniglio & Curnow.

Currently have 5

Berry , Cogs , Curnow , JHF , Kiddy + Milera slightly over
I was counting Milera too at 271k

Only difference to those is Caldwell instead of Berry and Preuss on the bench.

I also have Rioli at 340k and Witts at 380k

Bit scared/concerned that I don't have enough rookies (cheap) to generate cash with.

Might as well put up my team, keep stuffing around with it, but fairly settled for now.

In all honesty , too early to tell what rookies we will get let alone bench rookies and then if they do play how they will score.

Looking at your side you probably have 8 definite keepers then whether or not JDG , TT & Heeney end up doing.

So can 8 bench players get you 11 upgrades at least ?

Do we then get a second wave of strong enough rookies to then make sufficient $$$ quick enough to fund your final upgrades.

Is having 7 players priced between 200k and 270k excessive?
Only if you have the wrong ones...

If you'd picked Ziebell, Impey, Walker, Jiath, Daniher, Cumming and Dale last year you'd have probably just about locked the cash up... if you'd picked Clark, Dow, Stef Martin and some of the other names that we will happily forget then no.

Realistically if there is a 120k rookie who has similar JS and cash generation prospects, you take them every time but if there isn't then you have to generate cash somehow and you have to find players to field somewhere. I think we've got a very interesting group of them this year that offer a nice balance of job security and scoring potential. There's also a couple that have at least some keeper potential to them.

I'm definitely finding myself in that 6-9 range on that group consistently and while I'd love to ditch a few of them there are also a couple more I wouldn't mind having

I do worry that the exceptional results of last year will definitely create a bit of a recency bias in how we view that price group and could be a contributing factor to why we're looking at many of them or it could just be that there's an exceptionally good crop again and it's the right call!

I'm not worried about the 2nd wave of rookies this year as I reckon that a lot will be held back because of the lack of games/exposure over the last couple of years.

I'm aiming for 10 upgrades, but have to factor in 11. I'm trying to target players that have good JS and better scoring than rookies, but also have a good deal of upside, in fact, I've tried to do that with the whole team barring Steele who I need as a C option.

I think that the embedded value in all of those players over 200k helps me in upgrading by using less trades, their cash gen. potential IMO also rivals those rookies particularly in Def/Fwd, at least until the 2nd tranche present.

I am confused then.

8 bench players definitely won't fund 11 upgrades on their own I wouldn't have thought , hence why you would then need the $$$ from some of the second wave rookies (maybe I have that completely wrong) , unless you "settle" for fake premiums

I guess need to calculate how much you think your rookies will make then how much your mid pricers will get too and hopefully you have enough from 8 downgrades.

My G.Hewett hype team - lets me get 12 premos i'm happy with, 2 breakout options (Hewett and Rowell) + Cogs, Curnow and the high priced rookies. Honestly didn't think i'd like it as much as I do right now. ( Common sense will win before round 1 im sure)

How many premiums you have 450k and over. 6 x 250-300k players in that range is pretty high.

Managed to push toward 13 in the over 450 and guessing 10-11 if you go that many high price players.
