My Guess would be Zero. Its a Illusion, very similar to selecting (8) rookies that give you 150K return by round 9.

If you could select a (2) MIDS for Under 600K for RD1, that would end up as your M7/M8 at the end of the season, and give you close to 2300Pts, would you start them at M3/M4.?
Yeh I would. Who are you thinking though Neale and who?

Don't they say don't start people if you expect they will be your M7/M8 in case they then fall short of expectations and you are giving up way too many points to others ?

I certainly will be starting Neale so expecting he will be in the Top 10 mids for the season.

I guess at this stage I hope I can get Macrae , Mitchell , Miller , Oliver , Steele as well during the season (if I don't start them).

Probably throw a blanket over another half a dozen.

Not sure which other mids under $ 600k starting price will make the leap up to Top 6-12.

Brayshaw, can push to 110+ this year as Freo #1 Mid.
J.Kelly," unders" BUT have the Cameron factor, its a recurring nightmare from last year when "LEON" had a epiphany and thought Kelly was Dusty.
Jy Simpkin, can he improve 10pts on last year. ??????

I like Brayshaw the most out of that group I think he can give that 110 a nudge. After reading that article on Neale having a role change playing more wing/fwd doesn’t feel me with much confidence either.

M7/M8 top 20 would be enough.

I saw that article and was surprised as Neale is so good inside with quick hands and limited leg speed. Then the article advised that Lyons would play forward, he is very one dimensional and that is not in a fwd role, then I scanned the article for an April 1 dateline 🥊

Cam Guthrie is one I haven't seen mentioned much at all on here.

Started last year off on an absolute tear until a shoulder injury slowed him down.

Having said that he still averaged 107 post the injury after averaging 120 prior to the injury.

I'm essentially at that stage of the pre-season where I talk myself into a new POD everyday.

I've never had Matt Crouch but at $482,000 mid he is surely an option.
My take is that he hasn't had a full PS, but apparently looking ok nonetheless, he has scored 110 in the past but I'm pegging him at 105-110 which is around what I'm looking for with M8 and he's good value at that. I don't however want to pick an M8 for the start of the year as I'll possibly end up with 1 anyway.

I think with Greg Clark out injured, the 4 rookie midfield is a bit of a stretch so I'm looking for a discounted mid to compensate.

Just had a look and he averaged 119 over the last 7 games of the H/A, knows how to accumulate possies with the Geelong 'keepins off' play style.

I disagree as there are still a good range of mid rookies that make a 3 prem + Neale midfield viable. If you have concerns though I don't think a no mans land option is the right way to go, but would look for more of a Caldwell/Berry type that doesn't cost as much and has more upside.

I reckon that your guess would be 100% right.

Since 2014 the last three years are the only times it was even possible. It didn't happen last year with 10 options so I'd be very confident that no one hit the perfect 8 the prior two years and that doesn't even factor in that some of those 8 were injured

Lyons just rocketed up the contenders list for DPP changes.

Neale still viable on a wing, imo, but will want to watch closely and make sure he's wing/mid and no pure wing as clearance work is his bread and butter.
