My first official draft of the season, taken into account quite alot and am liking this structure

very prepared for things to change after the aami matches as i am yet to find my 2 pods that i am going to start with, like every year

so its pretty vanilla atm

mcinerny to gawn and hewett to mid price is obviously on the cards if fort looks like taking alot of omac scoring

rookies are also pretty much just random until we are certain and they are announced

Only issue outside the obvious Daicos one point out by the Herbster is how cheap the rookies are and that it will almost certainly cause big changes when almost none of them are named.

Can't fault any of the premium picks. Hewett and Brayshaw are both fairly POD worthy, fwiw.

yeah 100% aware of that, just dont actually want it to be true

still in the process but had this team laying around for around a week without changes so figured should atleast share it round

I do like that power midfield, I've basically got Sicily over Hewett, Thomas and Heeney in place of the two premium mids. Albeit I just noticed the OMc factor that is significant in that!

How bad is Big Boy's hamstring injury ?
You had me worried there, as I thought he'd got injured.

Lynch is most likely behind Reeves still, so yes, he probably won't play much early (they won't play 3 rucks), but I honestly thought McEvoy looked pretty poor in the ruck against the Pies. On form, he'll need to lift, or he'll miss matches, even as captain. Guess he won't be up against Grundy every week which may have contributed to it. I wouldn't be surprised if Lynch gets given games along side Reeves towards the back half of the season to prepare for 2023. Probably not the best starting pick though, no.

What is your thoughts on this team. Thinking of swapping a premium defender in order to get Butters.

I reckon you are going to have to sacrifice one of the big 3 mids, down to a Neale or even a Berry to try and sure up some of those rookies mate.

As Herbie has suggested, a good number of those rookies arent even in the picture to play round 1. Like the Brayshaw pick though

Nice to see a slightly different structure and a couple of different names in your team mate. That midfield is scary!

I would just query your thinking around downgrading hewitt to a 'midpricer' to free up cash for Big O to Gawn. You'll need to find about 150k to get Gawn via O Mac, which means you'd be looking to bring in a defender around the 240k or under mark, not sure there are too many of those worth bringing in?

I actually dont mind your defence, i'd be looking at downgrading one of the premium mids to a Berry and upgrading one of the forward rookies to a more premium player...not sure you want to be relying on 2 on field rookies in the forward line week in week out.

Have 64k in the bank with this one, but thought I'd get people's thoughts. Obvious weakness is the defence imo. View attachment 40093
This team is scarily similar to mine in terms of structure, with the main difference being instead of Rowell I've invested that coin in Ridley to Rich and Thomas to Martin, as well as a few more expensive rookies scattered across the team.

I like it (for obvious reasons..) but I actually think your biggest weakness is M8-M11, as I don't see a viable on field score from those 4 players (they may all not actually play). You've got the coin to upgrade them, but the other worry is that the bench rookies are all on a cheaper price point meaning if you need to improve some of those the 64k won't go all that far!

See how the rookies land, but maybe Curnow to Rachele for some extra coin might be a move, and then hopefully there are enough starting picks at the 123k and under mark to get the cash gen you'll need. If not, you might need to break Rowell into a few of McCartin, Ward, Stephens, Hinge types.

I agree with Chump's comments. Nice looking side. Only concern are the rookies, Sinn, Kemp, Dean, Tsitas, Parker, Mead all seem unlikely for round 1 at this point in time and given a number of those are 102k, you might need to free up some cash from somewhere to adjust them.

Agree with both your thoughts. I think I'll watch the practice matches and decide from there but this will be the route I go down - Rowell would be a sad one to lose but think it makes more sense to go a midpricer to a rookie rather than going from a premium to a midpricer.

One thing that helps going without a C loop is there's probably 4 or 5 viable C options that consistently score around 120-140 every week. If we only had a couple, or they were more volatile, it might be a different story.
