So I missed a lot of the Swans game, regardng Heeney, was he played mainly in the middle or still a high fwd rotation?
Pretty much pure forward, not even end of last year high HF role, was genuinely deep.
I didn't like the role at all. See below though for him still not being a bad pick.
He got 100 SC in the community series game against Melbourne, but he only scored 71 SC in the scratch match against St Kilda.
He does need to average over 80 to make 150k at his starting price of 256K.
He doesn't need to average over 80 for the season, he needs a month of averaging 80 which in the role he played is very possible.
The role was a 90+ role, primary interceptor and a highly involved rebounder who takes some kick-ins.
His durability is wretched and his price is higher than several alternatives, neither of which are ideal, but the role was solid gold and backed up what was expected.
He'll have bad games but you really only need a good month to make the 150k and I think a 200k target is reasonable on him if he stays on the park.
There's plenty of other options available though for sure so he's certainly not some kind of lock.
He seemed to be playing mostly forward, with the odd stint on the ball.
Both practice games have suggested that not much has changed from last year for him. It's left me unsure on whether he is worth it now with a tough draw to start the year.
I can't help but feel like we tricked him into an extension with midfield minutes promise. Perhaps we were just managing him this game but the role was poor.
On the flipside, he's still a good value 95 type pick in that role, last year the injuries he played through and the role he played for large parts of the year was horrific, I don't see him playing that role this year if he's fit.
Durability is an issue but a 95 average for an 84 is still a solid starting pick and with the ass falling out of the forwards a fair bit this week I think 95 is definitely a workable F6 choice.
